New style/look required - fed up!

I'm fed up of looking dumpy in my (ill-fitting) skinny jeans and tshirt/hoody combos, I see other people out and about in their lovely put together outfits and I feel like a sack of tatties!
I've never been a massive follower of fashion, I don't have a clue what looks good and have always gone to my "safe" options. But since having my DC (3yo and 7mo) I just feel horrible in everything I wear!
I'm early 30s, 5'1, size 8/10 on top and 12/14 on the bottom, everything looks ridiculous because I am so out of proportion!
I would love to lose some weight and get back to the gym to have some sort of semblance of my pre-baby self but I am just not a priority right now.
I like dresses but nothing I've tried suits me due to it either being too big on top (to fit my thighs/bum/hips) or too tight at the thighs/bum/hips. I also hate my legs so am forever wearing tights.
If relevant - I'm very pale (look ridiculous with a tan so have just embraced the pale!), have dark hair and eyes. Tend to wear black/navy/burgundy/khaki.

Any style tips/words of wisdom/offers to slice my hips off?!

Hi, I’m sorry you’re feeling this way, I’ve felt like this too, I think a lot of us go through an identity crisis after having children and our bodies change so it’s a big adjustment.
Could you try something like ribbed, flared leggings (H&M do good ones) as they’re elasticated at the waist and the slight flare will balance your proportions. Wear with a thin knit jumper, t-shirt when it’s warmer and trainers or converse and it’s a nice casual outfit that isn’t jeans and a hoody. Or you could try wide leg trousers with a jumper and trainers. Casual and comfy enough for running around after the kids but you might feel a little bit smarter.
Instead of a dress in the summer, would you consider a jumpsuit? Lots of jersey ones around which should fit your shape, can get long sleeve, short sleeve, sleeveless, full length leg and cropped so lots of options depending on what you’d prefer.

Also, make the time to treat yourself as a priority. Mark time in your diary/calendar like you would an appointment, speak to your husband/partner/family member to take the kids even just for an hour or two and do something just for you. You have to try and prioritise yourself in order to feel good and to be able to keep up with the demands of motherhood x
