Help me find something feminine/elegant to wear to a March wedding

Going to a church wedding in March & would love to wear something feminine for a change - I do casual really well!

I'm a size 12 on a good day, dark haired and pale skinned but the problem is I don't have the nicest legs; I've got a scar /indent part way down on my leg so I always feel safer in trousers - can trousers be sexy? I can wear skirts but only with long boots or thicker tights.

Any ideas please ladies?

march is a killer - i did it last year - it may well be COLD trouser suti is good
think carefully abotu colours

morethanmum · 16/02/2008 19:54

Not my friends - we think Coast is posh. Went to a wedding where everyone wore jeans. Am obv not posh enough for mumsnet.

Am watching as I also have a March wedding to go to.

Thanks, have looked at Coast - good for a summer wedding; everyone seemed to be wearing strapless Coast dresses at a wedding I went to last year. But wedding is in March brrr - anywhere else I could also look?

Phase Eight and Fenn Wright & Manson have some nice things - inc jackets/cardigans suitable for a March wedding (am going to one too). Agree Coast is too summery.

Heated · 16/02/2008 20:50

Admit the Fenn Wright & Manson looks lovely, thanks. There's a dress that looks a potential and might even get some wear out if it after the wedding.

Do you think I could get away with wearing long boots with a dress to a wedding or is that a definite no no?

Post a link to the potential dress! There's even more stuff in store at FW&M, the website has a limited selection. I thought it was all quite wearable for afterwards too.

I think boots are OK, but depends on the colour - all black might not work, maybe a bit too severe, but all chocolate brown or grey cd be very wintry and elegant.

Lovely dress LittleLapin - but in black, a no no for a wedding? The plum sounds lovely. Need to find something like you describe. Good website too.

MrsChop, can't make it link properly but it's at www.fennwrightmanson.com/ last one on page 5, city scape, but having 2nd thought, think actually it's better for work than a wedding and maybe too dark.

But you can see why I need help!

cod is right
trous suit

or fabulous coat (Phase eight very good. Or LK Bennet)

Heated · 16/02/2008 22:53

LOL!! Must admit there is a bit of a mental stumbling block there! But the style is lovely as are some of the colours.

Like your previous idea of dressing up what I know see to be a NAVY dress. It's that bit I'm really bad at, especially shoes.

But it looks like a wrap dress might be the way to go

Making notes!

What colour trouser suit for a wedding? And do I stop it looking like I'm off to work?

Going to trundle off now to see fab coats on LKBennett website.

Thanks ladies xx
