Best summer trousers for short fat women

I mainly wear dresses in summer but we're visiting somewhere where insects can be a problem so I need some trousers. I'm very short and fat (16-18). No bits worse than others, they are all dreadful! Anybody advise which trousers would be least worse and even better, link to any they've bought recently. Thanks!

If the trousers are specifically to keep insects off the skin, then all these loose, baggy, wide-legged styles will be a disaster as the mozzies will just fly up the gaping hole at the bottom!

Following as 5 ft tall and not slim either. Would love to find some nice trousers to suit (without the hassle of ordering lots online and trying at home).

I got some nice linen trousers, tapered trousers at M and S this week. Seem like they'll be cool for summer. I have to wear trousers or long skirts in the summer because of my awful varicose veins!

These crinkled muslin trousers from M&S are brilliant. Really light cool, breathable material & an elasticated waist In several colours. They are wide but M&S also do a tapered style. The wider style will be a lot cooler in hot weather though, speaking from experience.

I'm a similar size and height and have worn those trousers for the last few years . Really comfortable .

If the job of the trousers is to keep insects off you, it will have to be either trouser with an elasticated ankle, or tight, skinny legged. I live where there are lots of ticks and those two types are are only ones which keep the nasty things away.

I like those jersey joggers in Next , think i will get a khaki pair.

Thanks so much everyone, I've ordered a few pairs, will see which looks least awful and go for those (concluded several years ago that trousers aren't really my friend but in this case they will be better than mozzies which aren't anyone's friend).

Hi OP, mozzies absolutely adore me and I need to cover up well to avoid being ravaged by them.
Tapered trousers aren’t flattering on me so I wear straight, loose-fitting linen with lots of insect repellant on any bare flesh below my face.
I also wear 16/18, but am a little taller than you.
i haven’t looked at any clothes yet this year, so can’t recommend.

Fat face trousers

I have these and wear them a lot. Live in a very hot country, and tapered are warmer than wide though.

re mozzies they like ankles, so you’ll need repellent or socks (in which case, wide legs better to hide them!)

Also 5ft 1 and similar size and short of leg and wide legged trousers are NOT good on me.

I go for either straight legged or tapered. Ankle grazers are often a good fit.
I do take trousers up at times if they are otherwise good.

Magic trousers. Comfy and don't look horrific on my tubby frame. Make sure you buy some with spandex in.
