Gaping trouser pockets

Has anyone ever successfully sewn down trouser pockets to end the pocket gape?

gaping pockets is usually a sign that the trousers are too small - the pulling on the fabric is what causes it.

Lay them flat and pin them in place, where you would sew them flat and try them on again (or tacking stitches in a high contrasting colour if you don't want to be stabbed a billion times). See how they feel.

Then you can either hand or machine sew them down, so it looks like a line of edge/topstitching along the pocket opening.

I should have said these aren't side pockets as such, the opening is a kind of scallop across the top and the gape is like a droopyness. They're a nice fit, not tight across the hip/bottom/crotch, but i worry about losing ease.

in that case i would so one - possibly more - tiny press-studs into them, or invisible stitch them into place (then you can't use them - this kind of pocket is rubbish anyway.
Any chance of a photo?

Or you could get some velcro dots, then the pocket will stay in place

i was thinking about velcro - personally I'm not a fan, but if the fabric is quite sturdy it's also a good idesa.

You can buy Velcro dots or Velcro strip ( by the length) from John Lewis.
