What can I actually do to improve my face

I'm 35. I feel I look older. My 8 year old said (unprompted) today that my face looks old and it has really got to me. I don't have wrinkles particularly, but my face just looks tired and a bit stale(as in the opposite of fresh, I don't know which word to use). I get enough sleep, drink lots of water, moisturise and wear SPF. I don't have a skin care routine particularly. My diet isn't the best but isn't too bad. I drink occasionally but not regularly.

I was underweight for a while, now I am at a healthy weight (but on the thinner side). I wasn't overweight to start with but it was a fairly drastic weight loss and I think it aged me. I am working at gaining more weight, but besides that is there anything I can do?

I'd been considering getting one of those caci facial but apparently you need lots of them, and I could just about afford one. Would love some suggestions. I can barely face the mirror most days and my child's comment has really upset me x

Perhaps some hyaluronic acid and vit c serum - the inkey ones are quite good.
I've definitely noticed a brightening with vit c, a bit retinol as well can help with fine lines. Then some lovely rich moisturiser.

Do you think the problem is with your skin? Or is it structural? You mention a CACI facial which isn't going to do that much for your skin (although it will improve blood flow to it) but it will make a big difference to the structure of your face by plumping up muscles.
If that's the effect you're after you could try facial exercises, have a look on YouTube. You need to be quite consistent with them.
Also add in some massage to replicate the increased blood flow.

If the issue is skin rather than structure there are endless products that can help, depending on whether you're after more glow, removing pigmentation, softening lines etc etc

Beauty salons in training college offer CACI at a reasonable price

@DameCelia sorry I didn't realise there was a difference between skin and structural- I definitely think my face needs plumping so maybe that means structural?

Thanks all for suggestions. I will look for the inkey stuff that's been recommended and see if there are any beauty salon training colleges near me.

When my DD was the same age, I was stupid enough to ask if she thought I could do anything with my face to look better. She had suggested to try and get my both eyes the same shape 😂

Seriously, a quick fix that may help - Lisa Eldridge has a good facial massage video on YouTube to get you glowing and relax your features, you will need a light oil. I would also suggest a little self tan. I used to use St Tropez facial spray, then tried St Moritz, a bargain from Savers, and love it more. Uplifting lip gloss and a smile.

Get the 8 year old on some light chores, let’s talkie more helpie, Mummy needs to rest. 💃

To an 8 year old anyone over 20 looks 80 to them so don't take it too much to heart
