Recommendations for teen DS dry, flaky, red skin on face and neck

My DH decided to help DS 14 with shaving. DH totally forgot that DS has a history of eczema and while he does get typical teen spots/breakouts, he actually has quite sensitive, dry skin. Anyway, they used some highly fragranced products, and poor DS is now left with dry, red patches on his cheeks, chin and neck that are making him a bit self conscious. They look pretty uncomfortable to me, but DS says they aren't itchy.

I've said to DS to stop using anything fragranced on his face - he has a Simple moisturising face wash and a simple moisturiser, and some Bulldog sensitive skin shaving gel and post-shave balm, but I think he needs something to sooth his skin and help it repair. I'm happy to spend a little bit of money, but not mega bucks! Any recommendations?

When my son was being treated for severe acne the dermatologist gave him Dermol 500. Worked a treat as his skin had been extremely dry and irritated from the medication. Used as a cleanser and moisturizer.

A thick moisturizer should be used for dry, flaky skin, and to prevent redness one should use sunscreen. A mineral sunscreen is most suitable to prevent redness and before using it, do a patch test for allergies. To know more visit allergic to mineral sunscreen

The Simple range isn't actually that kind to skin

My DS had to stop using Cerave SA once he started shaving as it really stung his skin

Now he just uses a Gillette gel and has stopped using any face washes at all as the act of shaving itself with the gel seems enough to clean his skin as it were for now anyway

I might try Dermol 500 for DS if he'll use it

La Roche Posay Cicaplast to calm the irritation.

Eumovate- probably need to get from docs but use a e consult. By far the quickest way to deal with a reaction yo a fragrance product. And the dermol, or cetraban to moisturise.
