Which collagen?

I am looking to start collagen for my flaky and dull skin. I’m 42 and look young I’m told but this year my skin just feels loose if you know what I mean.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

The lady in Holland and Barrett suggested powder but I am calorie controlled and sugar free so don’t want to add sweetened creamers etc, however she said you need to take 2/3 tablets a day so the tablets can work out expensive.

I see that absolute collagen does a liquid?

Any tips or advice would be great. Thanks!

I use Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides powder, and pop a scoop in my coffee in the morning. Looking at the calorie count online, it's 35 calories per scoop.

Ah brill, that’s not too bad calorie wise.

Can I ask how old you are - is one scoop enough to make a difference and how much does it cost a month please?

I'm 38. I just use one 10g scoop per day - they recommend 1-2, but one seems to be working for me at the moment. I reckon each large tub last me a couple of months.

I’ve just started taking collagen and have bought the tablets from H & B, they are dreadful huge things that I find really hard to swallow. The recommended dose is 3 a day just to get 3mg of collagen, I won’t be buying them again.

I might start with the powder that @MarpleFan suggested rather than take the pills as it seems expensive that way and I can’t take huge pills either.

I think that’s the same one that Jennifer Aniston takes?

I'm 40 and use the vital protein collagen powder. I started it along side omega3 capsules for extremely dry/flaky skin. I also massively upped my water intake. I've definitely seen changes; skin feels softer, less dry, feels more supple and looks better.
I have s scoop in my first coffee and think a tub lasts around 4/5 weeks.

Yes it is - if it's good enough for her, then it's good enough for me.

I've been looking into collagen supplements too. Is there any evidence that collagen taken orally can actually make it's way to your skin?
