I could just pull an old floral dress out of the wardrobe. But I'm wondering if anyone has any better steers.
Got tickets for one of the RHS days at Chelsea and want to check how dressy/casual it is.
Can anyone advise?
I'm def wearing trainers if I'm on my feet all day!

Most people were fairly casual when I went and lots of women were wearing dresses with casual comfortable shoes, and large shopper style bags.

I would wear the dress and trainers you have and you will look perfectly fine!

Oh that's great!
Been to Hampton Court flower show on a non RHS day and it was similarly casual. I was just concerned Chelsea would be a bit more chi-chi. Old dress it is!

I go to Chelsea every year. Anything goes, tbh. Some people dress to the nines in smart floral designer numbers, some people dress for comfort. You won’t be out of place whatever you wear.

I like to treat myself to something striking and floral, but I’m involved in other horticultural events throughout the year so I wear them again.

Do take a warm cardigan though. I’ve made that mistake and been shivering there far too many times. Layers are essential, especially if you arrive when the doors open (which you absolutely should do to get the better of the crowds).

You’ll see the whole range there, from people who look like they;ve just wandered in from a day on the allotment to people who are wearing posh frocks, and shoes I could only wear in bed.

I go for comfy feet, layers as above and a smallish hat if it’s going to be sunny. It’s crowded so no trolleys and hands free bags are best.
