Western wear at Indian wedding - is this appropriate for Sangeet?

Hi, I will be attending a Hindu destination wedding and have been planning my outfits. From dress code given I have planned 2 traditional outfits for the Mehndi and wedding day but have been told the Sangeet is ‘Indo-western glam’

I am thinking of wearing the below, paired with Indian jewellery. Would this be appropriate? We are friends with the groom who has told us any long/formal western dress is fine that is easy to move in, similar to usual wedding attire but from researching I am worried will be too plain? Any thoughts would be appreciated:)

I don't think it's too plain - but I think you need to cover your shoulders, so would need a wrap or something. That could be sparkly?

I mean, Indian weddings are massively OTT in terms of sparkle and glamour, but very modest as well.

I would check. In my family, that would be absolutely fine. Look at the brand Kanya or Maya (both have some designs on Asos) to see strappy saree/lehenga tops for ideas too. Other families may prefer shoulders covered, but I’ve never experienced that.
One thing to consider is that some sangeets will require you to take your shoes off, just in case that dress drags on the floor without heels.

This is an amazing choice if you wish to keep it minimal. However, if you wish to add some Indian wedding elements to it go for a bright and gaudy cape or shrug along with some statement earrings. Don't forget to add a contrast zari work bag to it for the extra Indian wedding effect and for the sandals, you can either go with comfortable flats or heels with some sequin work, as per your liking.
