I know there are a million threads like this but I'm so confused I need a bit of guidance.

Am 46 this year, had a horrendous couple of years mental health wise and have totally neglected me. I am slowly coming back in the room so to speak but I look like I've been dug up most days!!
I am drinking more water, getting more exercise, still a long way to go with diet!

I need a simple skin routine (that's not extortionate) that will make me look less rubbish. I am peri menopausal, have combination skin but the dry bits are very dry! Also I'm not sure if I have Rosacea or something else. By the end of the day my nose is so red/purple and my cheeks are so red I feel like I can't go out!
I have some scaring and a few lines appearing.

Can anyone point me in the direction of a brand that are good? Or products?

Tia 🙏

I use La Roche Posay. They are not the cheapest but do a 3 piece kit for oily sensitive skin (often 3 for 2 in Boots so works out cheaper). My skin is like you describe and this has helped so much

Cerave
LRP
Dermatica

Thank you, I have heard of those. I will take a look. I don't mind spending a bit if they actually work.

I use The Ordinary for my combination skin with rosacea. I use squalane cleanser, niacinamide and moisturiser at night. In the morning I also use squalane cleanser, then hyaluronic acid serum, moisturiser and SPF.

I use a face scrub twice a week (not The Ordinary - think it is from a brand called Wishful) and I also do a salycilic acid face mask (The Ordinary) once a week.

It's really made a big difference to my skin which means towards being very congested. I get issues with the pustule type of rosacea and ocular rosacea. It can be a right pain! So getting skincare right has really improved things.

I also don't really wear make up which is for my skin's sake. I only wear a bit of face powder.

Gosh that sounds painful. Glad to hear you've managed to find something that helps. I have used The Ordinary products before, I will take a good look at them again thank you.

I think my skin is just quite congested from lack of care and all the meds that I'm on atm. Thank you for your advise, it's much appreciated
