Botox on frown lines - bad idea?

Hi everyone

I've been considering having some botox on my frown lines/11s now that I've got quite obvious ones. I've been led to believe botox would improve the appearance a lot. Happy to do it, but I've googled and researched, and it seems like it can be risky to have it done in that area because of how close it is to the eyes. I would hate to have any effects on my vision, obviously.

Is the risk overblown and only an issue if you go to someone inexperienced? Or is it really a bad idea to have botox in this area? I don't really have many other wrinkles at all despite being 40, so it would be a bit annoying not to be able to do anything about it.

I have never heard that it’s a particularly high risk area? I had a single frown line in the centre rather than 11’s and one Botox session has virtually eliminated it!

I had Botox on my frown lines/11s/ wtf lines.

Really really successful, really naturally just stopped my looking vaguely annoyed all the time!

Also by the time it wore off I'd clearly got out of the habit of frowning and they never came back badly.

Possibly not an issue for you but as a nice side effect ease my headaches too.

I don't recall being told it was a high risk area but I suspect the answer is to really choose your provider really well.

I have 100% confidence in the doctor who did mine

Never heard that and I have my 11's done

Thanks for the info. Were yours already etched in when you had it done? Mine have got a lot worse recently because I've been squinting at my laptop a lot and have been in the sun quite a bit while working in Dubai.

I don't think mine were very very deep or etched to be fair, I think I got it done quite early on.

Do you have or have found a good local clinic you could go and talk to?

Try baby botox first. It’s a smaller dose so cheaper and I have it for my 11’s and laughter lines. I’m not trying to erase them completely but it reduces them considerably, it’s a softer look and I’m really happy with it.

I'm in London, so any recommendations welcome! There are so many clinics here that I have no idea where to start!

Sorry, no idea about London, I have a great one in Oxfordshire but that's no help!

Sheridan France, is lovely and a bit cheaper, but totally qualified, but I'd only do botox or profhilo with her, never fillers.
Or Cosmetic Skin Clinic, more expensive, lighter touch (though 11's are pretty straightforward), and can also advise on other things like ultherapy, Morpheus8 and super subtle fillers. That's where people like sali Hughes and Caroline hirons go.
Both Marylebone.
