I have the strangest hair! So it's naturally curly, quite thick, it's not too bad after it's been washed and conditioned however as it drys it becomes frizzy, and by day 2 it's just a ball of mess.
I feel it's coarse also, I can never get it smooth, I'd love it to be smooth and glossy with a little volume but just don't know how to achieve this.
I'd love a good product that would help, I like leave in treatments etc but an instant smoother, without making it heavy or greasy would do the trick, not really sure what I'm looking for but some wonder product!

I don't think thick, curly/wavy and coarse hair can ever be smooth without a bit of styling. I like the Revlon hot brush for smoothing while adding volume and movement, not CNN newsreader boofy volume but not flat like you get with straighteners either.

A moisturiser and heat protector on before styling, and a bit of oil on my fingertips as I run them through each morning. I use Olaplex products but they're a luxury. The oil in particular is very nice though.

@StrawHatOnTheParcelShelf,

"CNN newsreader boofy volume" is the best descriptive phrase ever!

@locomum83

My friend with prone-to-frizziness thick hair uses this and is pleased with the overall improvement in condition:

Cantu hair cream is quite good, I also mix in a couple of drops of pure argan oil.

Some good information here

I have similar hair and agree with @StrawHatOnTheParcelShelf that it can never be smooth without getting your styling right. A product can't achieve what proper drying can do. Personally I would be lost without my revlon one step and cloud 9 straighteners. You need to be smoothing the cuticle down with heat.

I do think heat helps but I'm just so crap at working heat tools and although I have an air styler I just can't get it to do what I want, my straightener is crap and I can't afford another 😂
