I need a fabulous birthday dress

It’s my 30th next month and I’m struggling to find a dress for my party.

I want something utterly fabulous and stand out, sexy without being trashy but nothing is grabbing me!

I’m 5”3, size 8 on top and 10 on the bottom, small bust but curvier hips and bum. I like my legs but would definitely consider midi or full length. Light brown hair and will have a subtle tan on the night. Nothing frilly or tent like, and most importantly nothing ordinary! Budget £500.

Don’t buy! Rent! From By Rotation, so many fab dresses on there. And you’ll have so many pics of you on the special day you prob wouldn’t want to wear it again anyway.

So, the dresses are absolutely stunning and I just had to keep both 😆.

I’ve decided on the sexy pink dress (that I daren’t post!) for the party. My friends and I who are all turning 30 this year are also having a big night out later in the year so I’ll wear the blue mini then! Thank you again for your suggestions everyone.

Ok, I’m fully prepared for the wrath of the mumsnet too much skin committee. This is it. I was going to go for a cerise one from the same brand but ended up plumping for this kind of electric bubblegum one.

I know it won’t be to everyone’s taste but I love it and feel amazing in it! The plan is to go with a subtle tan and very minimal pared back hair and make up as the dress is such a statement piece. Now to find shoes and a bag!

I still love dressing up and I'm 47. My 30th, we had a back to the 90s rave in a warehouse in east London and I wore a leopard print bustier and frilly knickers, and I didn't give a shit about the skin on show. Those were the days!

Looks fabulous, excellent choice! Shoes wise maybe a nude strappy pair and then you can go for a glittery bag. Obviously careful on materials as that fabric looks like it would probably pull. Would a subtleish chainmail bag be too y2k?
