Facial hair

It’s finally hitting me in my 30s. Hairs popping up everywhere - mostly around the chin. I keep plucking them out and I use one of those facial hair remover tweezer things. Any better option?

This happened to me basically the day I turned 30! What's it all about?!

No recommendations. Here for the replies!

Electrolysis. 2 years ago I could have grown a full beard and tache (dark haired, post menopausal), now I have a totally hair free face (except eyebrows obviously). I haven’t had to pluck, shave, anything since my first treatment.

It’s not painless but it’s not as bad as you think it is!

I have severe hirsutism with PCOS, shaving twice a day, full thick dark beard etc and staying at home.

I was absolutely desperate, and saw a post on Linked in: a woman with similar growth to me had laser treatment, with amazing results.

I just decided to go for it and can honestly say it has changed my whole life..... Theresa, if you are on here.....Thankyou!

It's a little painful, like being pinged with an elastic band, but absolutely worth it.

Philips Lumea is your friend. Or laser treatment.

DessertGate · 13/04/2023 21:04

I zap my chin and moustache with a Philips Lumea and the remaining, stubborn buggers get a dose of electrolysis every few months.

I also have no hairs on my toes, legs, arms or underarms due to laser treatment and a top-up with Philips Lumea.

I use Shiseido facial razor things! Do it maybe once or twice a week.

I would just get it waxed but I don't have the time, don't want to spend the money, they always miss a few sneaky feckers and they tell me off for using the facial razors.

I use facial razor, I've never understood why it's okay for men and not for women. It doesn't grown back thicker or stubbly.

VintageThoughts · 13/04/2023 21:27

I shave every couple of days with a ladyshaver thing. Most of my face to get rid of peach fuzz or whatever it's called.

Makeup looks sooooo much better and it doesn't grow back thicker or darker.

I would possibly say it stands upright rather than laying flat but as I do it every two/three days I don't care. It takes about 30 seconds.

Electrolysis

Or laser if there really are a fair few

Spamham · 19/04/2023 23:43

Be really careful using Philips Lumea on your face. I got hyperpigmentation using it quite a few years ago, which took years to get rid of. Didn’t take me so long to get rid of the Lumea though- it went straight on eBay
