Recently went dark after having balayage hair for a long time. I don't really like it.
Which do you think looks best?

Darker hair for sure, the other is quite stripy and looks a bit dated making you look older (although hard to tell without seeing your face obvs!)

TattiePants · 08/04/2023 17:27

I prefer the darker (pink jumper) colour although from what I can see, you suit both.

NemoandDoris · 08/04/2023 17:28

Pink jumper one...

Thickasmince23 · 08/04/2023 17:29

Your hair looks healthier in the pink top photo. You look more "put together" and glossy

The Leppard print one looks a bit more tatty

Thickasmince23 · 08/04/2023 17:29

Leppard 😂 I obviously mean leopard

KnickerlessParsons · 08/04/2023 17:29

Can't see much difference.

TheOGCCL · 08/04/2023 17:32

I think they both look nice. The leopard print top tones better with the hair than the pink top. Would be interesting to compare both with the leopard print top. Sometimes when you change your hair colour you need a slight adjustment in the colours you wear too.

Pink

BraveGoldie · 09/04/2023 10:50

Interesting! Split right down the middle!

To me, they are both nice styles, but they may communicate something different about you, due to stereotypes/ judgment.

I think many people might guess the darker hair has associations of serious, sincere, grown up, elegant..... dinner eating oysters in a quiet restaurant, contemplating whether the guy opposite is good enough for a goodnight kiss. ..

The lighter streaky one is more 'out on the town, more available, more fun but also less mature..... downing a shandy at the local pub, speaking a bit loud and having a great laugh with your mates, before hoping to pull. Grin

Maybe unfair...., but there you go..... !

Covetthee · 09/04/2023 10:54

I prefer the dark, I think highlights/balayage can look quite old fashioned/dated when worn poker straight but thats just my opinion.

a change can take a while to get used to so give it a few weeks and then see how you feel.

How is it split down the middle?! Way more people have said the left than the right!!!

HappyMe6 · 09/04/2023 12:20

Leopard print one

dontgobaconmyheart · 09/04/2023 12:21

I prefer the darker hair, I think it just looks a tad more expensive compared to the balayage, and is more flattering.

Not a great deal in it though.

JaneJeffer · 09/04/2023 12:32

Darker is best and makes your skin brighter.

universityhelp · 09/04/2023 12:36

Both look nice, the darker colour makes you look younger. Your hair looks a bit drier in the other picture.

Hesma · 09/04/2023 12:59

Baylage

ThisNameIsNotAvailable · 09/04/2023 13:02

You can’t really tell without seeing your face.

Alwaysoneoddsock · 09/04/2023 13:08

Both are nice. I prefer the balayage. I wonder what the age split of posters preferring each style is.

NightOwlNotEarlyBird · 09/04/2023 13:08

My first thought is that the darker hair makes you look younger which is interesting because obvs can't see your face!

Apairofsparklingeyes · 09/04/2023 18:14

The darker hair colour suits your skin tone better.

xPazYFuerza · 09/04/2023 18:16

Dinkied · 08/04/2023 15:52

Looks almost the same to me. Don’t overthink it :-)

Agree

Comfies · 09/04/2023 18:19

Agree that the darker one looks younger. I'm 39 for the person who asked. I don't see a major difference, but I slightly prefer the blonde...not sure why though. I'm blonde myself and have similar skin to the op. I don't have any eyebrows though, (they are so blonde they are invisible and always have been) so I'd look bonkers with dark hair

Wishona · 09/04/2023 18:20

Pink jumper

mybeautifuloak · 09/04/2023 18:43

The balayage looks dated
