Just that really! For example: white or ivory! Can you wear black? Is camel or tan a no no

I wouldn't wear tan or camel without looking like the living dead, but I am very pale as well as being white/silver haired so they've never been a good colour for me personally. The best colours for me are strong and bright - fuschia, bright orange, cobalt but black, white, ivory are fine

Agree with pp - I have almost white hair and would look dreadful in anything brown, beige, camel.

I look good in black - but also in very bright colours like fuschia and bright blue. Dark green is also a winner.

My hair is snow white, shoulder length bob, since under thirty years old.
I’ve never been able to wear red, very pale & it washes me out, same with. Yellows, beige etc. I find dark strong colours work best, black, navy, deep purple, bottle green or intense colours in the blue spectrum like peacock, bright turquoise, royal blue. The only pale colours that work, for me, are pinks, light blues, lavender.
I had my colours done with HoC & was a Blue Spring so that probably has a lot to do with it. I find that session was really helpful after I’d struggled with what wear when I went from copper red to platinum white in the space of just five years in my late twenties.

It's not really about your hair colour it's whether or not you have a warm or cool skin tone. Camel and tan will only work if you're warm toned and black only really works on cool toned - specifically winters.

I can wear White, black, navy, grey, pale or bright pink, pale blue, any shade of purple, Forest or bright emerald green.

I cannot wear cream, yellow, orange, brown (unless it’s a bitter chocolate brown), khaki, lime green.

Red is a tricky one, I can get away with some if they have a blue tinge.

I heard a piece about colour analysis on Radio 4 the other day ( so it must be true). The perceived wisdom was that the colour tones which suited you pre grey were still the palette you should work with , as your eyes and skin tone would be more important.
So , if you know have had than analysis done, stick with it.

I'm autumn so suit all sorts of sludgey colours that most people don't, but I'm finding that with hair greying at the front I look better with a bit of bright colour from my palette added in.

E.g. I'm in a natural linen dress today with bright coral lipstick (on holiday somewhere warm!).

CeeceeBloomingdale · 07/04/2023 21:43

I can't wear beige or fawn. I can wear white, some pale creams and dark brown. My best colours are emerald green, coral and black. I can wear red as long as it's a blue/cool red.

LynetteScavo · 07/04/2023 21:56

I can wear mid pinks and blues. I can wear navy or black. I now avoid grey, and don't wear camel or beige tops, but trousers or a coat are OK if I'm we wearing a navy jumper.

Many years ago I had my colours done I was an autumn. I generally wear warm ivory foundation, ( had my skin tone done few years ago at boots)but as my grey is not through yet I’m looking forward to seeing the colours I will be able to wear.

I really suit greys, especially charcoal. Also navy and white. Khaki still looks good and I also wear black.
