Stylish glasses wearers - help

While I wear my glasses quite regularly, in the last fifteen years I have been wearing contacts when going to events, socialising, weddings etc.
Unfortunately I'm having trouble with my contacts and can't wear them currently so back to glasses it is for now. Do any of you who wear glasses full-time have tips for styling them and carrying them off with confidence, particularly for fancier events?
Any tips greatly appreciated! I'm quite short-sighted and generally have my lenses thinned down if it's relevant.

Ime a pair of designer frames give you confidence! Currently have a chunky black pair by Marc Jacobs!

I think you have to embrace the fact that you're wearing glasses and really go for it! I love Anne & Valentin frames and have several pairs and they always get compliments.

I am -9.50 in both eyes and have retinal and astigmatism issues so my glasses make my eyes look tiny (!) but I have sjogrens and lupus which means I can’t wear contacts anymore so I just have to go with it! I find a smart black frame that’s slightly thicker works well for me as it hides the sides of my (even though they’re already thinned!) thick lenses! And I go for a good mascara to make my eyelashes stand out and a bolder hair colour. I kind of make my glasses the main event!

I go a bit heavier on the eye make up (but nothing ridiculous) when I wear my glasses. I have some oversized, square framed glasses which suit me and make my features look prettier.

I've found I can't wear anything floaty / boho with my glasses. It just doesn't work on me.

get different styles to go with different outfits and have the lenses thinned as much as possible. Second the eye make up thing but if your glasses make your eyes smaller or bigger you need to take this into account and also really review your make up for any smudges or mistakes as they will be more obvious. Have a really good magnifying mirror, q tips and make up remover on hand to correct things.

I have just bought some interesting shaped ones for evening wear and am excited about wearing them. Like the idea of the glasses being the main event and think if I'm wearing them daily now I can probably expand my range .
It seems like a big style overhaul in some ways. My make-up is definitely going to have to change. Are big earrings a definite no no?
