Waxing Aftercare

So I went for my very first bikini wax recently as I wanted to see if I got better results than shaving or hair removal creams.
I have always found that I fairly quickly come out in a rash and then by the time the rash has gone hair is regrowing.
So cut to my waxing attempts. I was warned there would probably be spots and they would die down, but I am currently on day 4 and still have a lot of pus filled spots down there.
I don't have any itching so it's easy to ignore it other than the sight.
Does everyone get these? How long do they last? Is there anything I can do to reduce/get rid of them?

I would try some light exfoliation in the shower and tea tree lotion after.

Ingrown Go I think it's called lotion from Amazon on a cotton pad and wiped over area for 7 days twice a day for a week after waxing.

Thanks.
Will give a try. Was hoping that waxing would be the answer and I would be all smooth and lovely like all the swimsuit models, alas, not viewing ready at the moment! 😂

I've never had that! Why did the person doing it think you would get spots?

I use a serum by Venus. I do a mix of waxing and Veet and use it after both

Sounds like folliculitis. Some people are really prone to it after any kind of hair removal.

I find for a week or so I'd come out with a rash from waxing my bikini area, not to mention it tearing the skin then I'd come out in spots but after a week or so it does ease. I smother myself in Vaseline. I've tried everything else which has failed to work but Vaseline has shown to be effective. Hope you find an answer to solving your challenges on waxing! Good luck!🤞

OP, I have regular Hollywood waxes and this does not sound right at all. Was hot wax used? I would suggest trying again (after the regrowth) with another salon and explain exactly what happened. Hopefully someone get better sort you out.

Yes, the first few waxes can be uncomfortable (take a couple of paracetamol before and don't have a wax just before a period) but the fall out should be nothing like this.

Sagittariusrising · 05/04/2023 16:06

@StarlightLady I agree. I popped out this lunchtime for a Brazilian wax for the first time in a while and it looks a bit pink but nothing like the OP. I would second looking for another salon if you have it done again.

Goodness I've waxed for years and never had this have you had a reaction? What kind of wax was it?

After mine I just rub pure shea butter around every night and it keeps it lovely and soft... But I would be really careful adding any products to yours.. Maybe soudacreme?

Sagittariusrising · 05/04/2023 16:34

@Freeflight - It does help to make sure your skin is in great condition beforehand. I always use body scrub in the bath and then loads of body butter so that skin is exfoliated, so that when I come to get waxed it means my skin is already smooth and in good condition. You should also leave the area alone afterwards for 24 hours to give it time to settle down but something like shea, E45 cream or bio-oil might be gentle enough if you're careful.

WoofWoofBeachLife · 05/04/2023 17:47

Exfoliate before if you don't already do this. I would also reiterate what Star said above and other posters you should change the waxer. I use some zerobase cream on mine afterwards, albeit I use it for most things 😂
That sounds painful, try some diluted tea tree oil xx
