Blackheads on nose making my miserable, have tried everything :(

I'm tried just about everything I can think of to get rid of blackheads on my nose. I'm very pale so they show up badly. At any given times there are dozens of them, all over my nose.
I'm going on a date this weekend and feeling so self-conscious about them. I feel they ruin my image. I usually spend about an hour every evening extracting them with a tool I have but they seems to have come back with the vengence by morning :(
I've tried the strips, facial scrubs, exfolliants and similar but nothing works.
I eat healthy, exercise a lot and have a careful cleansing routine.
Anyone else have similar issues with blackheards?

Ca you post a pic of just your nose OP so we can 'see' the problem? Sometimes extraction makes them worse and leaves craters, so you have to be careful.

What skincare routine do you have and what make up do you wear?

I have just started using one product because my skin was going mad. I'm over 50. I can honestly say 2 months in and my skin is nearly as good as it was in my 20s and it's a cheap (£20) a month product.

Nip Fab Glycolic pads are a real game changer.

Lavenderlemongrass · 04/04/2023 19:04

What product do you use @TheWorldisGoingMad?

WalkLong · 04/04/2023 19:20

I tried Clean & Clear Blackhead Clearing Cleanser on a MN recommendation. I nearly didnt because it claims to make a difference in 24hr and I don't buy products that make "ridiculous" claims, but it was cheap...

It really did make a huge difference in 24 hours!

How about trying a DIY baking soda mask, every other day!

Techno56 · 04/04/2023 19:35

My son's were awful and needed something he could just use in the shower, tried tons, the only one that really has worked is acnecide face wash, it's the one that is 9.99 for 50ml. Huge difference.

If blackheads you could try this method from a blog the name of which absolutely escapes me now and my internet is too iffy to google it - use a BHA/salicylic treatment on area, leave it at least 20 minutes. After that, use a clay mask on top for recommended time. Rinse that off, dry and massage with cleansing oil (google oil massage etc for face) until plugs release.

I would see a beautician to get their take on it, mine have gone away since I stopped squeezing my nose and started using a decent skincare routine-these days I rarely get breakouts of any kind.

Pore strips And so satisfying

WalkLong · 04/04/2023 19:42

Has anyone tried the green mask that keeps popping up on FB? It looks amazing in the animations 😆

HappierTimesAhead · 05/04/2023 20:41

Paula's Choice BHA Exfoliant. And the Cleanser. It really works.

Yes, that's another 2% salicylic product. Salicylic works by penetrating into the blocked pore and scooping out the gunk (non technical explanation 😂)

I'd bet it's sebaceous filaments too. I found oil cleansing, using a muslin cloth and a mix of jojoba oil, tea tree and eucalyptus oils, really reduced mine. It probably would have got them totally cleared but I'm lazy and gave up!
