Spray tan before a sun holiday?

Going on a sun holiday next month and I really love the bronzed look! I'm wondering if I should get a spray tan beforehand or is there no point? I won't be swimming as such but having a quick dip every so often to cool off (hopefully!) I don't want it to be all patchy within a day or so but would really like to not be pasty white. Are there brands that hold up better or would it just be a waste of time & money?

I do it myself with express tan foam and an applicator mitt. My DH helps with the bits I can’t reach. I find one coat lasts a good week, then I scrub with a loofa and reapply. Or you can use a buildable gradual tan body lotion.

All methods though, the longevity depends on your prep and aftercare.

I’ve tried a spray tan a couple of times but because I like to go in the pool it never lasts more than a day. What I do now is use a gradual tan every night for about a week before and top that up when I’m on holiday.

I don't know about a spray tan but bondi sands are very long lasting and difficult to remove so I wouldn't think a quick dip in the pool would do any harm. I recommend the liquid gold foam or oil and they also have a moisturiser to apply daily to increase longevity of tan

Agree with PPs gradual tan seems to last longer in the pool etc than a spray tan, and you can keep topping up.

I had it done once but still looked like a radioactive ghost on the beach so I never bothered again 😂

I always do one and it tends to last a few days; if just say that when you come out of the pool pat yourself dry rather than rub to stop it going patchy

Would having a professional tan pre holiday then using gradual tanner each day when on holiday turn out badly?

Thanks, maybe I should just self tan at home beforehand but it would mean drafting in DH to do the bits I can't reach - normally if I self tan at home I just do the bits that will be on show!! The spray tan is another expense really so if I could get away with doing it myself I really should.
