Piercing healing tips (earlobe)

So I passed a big professional exam last week that I’d worked my arse off for, so to celebrate I went and got my earlobes pierced for a second time yesterday. I’ve always worked in extremely conservative jobs (ridiculously so really as a second lobe piercing is so normal these days!) but now I work for myself so it’s been in my mind to do it for a while, so I decided to go for it if I passed! I went to a proper piercing place with good reviews, and they used a needle rather than a gun and did a lovely job.

Really happy with them, but of course they are a little sore at the moment, and I’m really looking forward to being able to swap the big ball earrings they put in for something pretty and delicate. So does anyone have any top tips for faster healing? Any supplements that I can take or anything? Have been advised to leave them alone other than cleaning twice a day with cool boiled water and sea salt, with clean hands and cotton buds. Trying not to catch them with tops and things too, as much as possible.

Look how pretty though, I think I might have to get a tiny little silver flower to keep my little bumble bees happy to start with 😊

Looks lovely OP. I'm surprised they put those earrings in though, I thought most places who did needle piercings put in those labret studs (from the back) with the flat backs in a style of your choice, but I could be wrong.
Anyway, I'd recommend using a sterile saline spray to aid healing, most piercing places sell it.
Happy healing, I love your bumble bees!

These days you can choose from a huge range of earrings when getting them pierced I'm.not sure why you had to have the balls? I had little (flat backed) studs when I had mine pierced.

In terms of looking after them just avoid touching them/fiddling with them. I also eat well to try and give my body the vitamins to help me heal.

The earrings are what they gave me, so 🤷‍♀️ I’m fine with them, they’re comfy to sleep in and things and they’re only for a few weeks. Will get some saline spray and vitamins, thanks 😊 I love my bees too, they’re the studs I wear most often so looking forward to getting them some little friends!

I absolutely subscribe to leaving them the fuck alone method! I got my 2nd lobes done a while back and faffed around cleaning them with saline solution and they took ages to heal and one got a bit infected. When I got my thirds done I did nothing to them, literally no cleaning or anything and they've healed quickly with no problems.

I had a lot of piercings in various places before I took a job in beauty where the uniform included hair and beauty bits (this is some time ago now so I think attitudes have changed) my piercer used to say one teaspoon of rock salt dissolved in boiling water and clean once to twice a day with cotton pads. I've never had an infection and used to quite enjoy the cleaning/healing side in a bit of a weird way!

I find Neilmed spray more convenient than making my own solution. But yes leaving them alone as much as possible is key.
