Best bras for GG cup

bluedabadeedabada · 31/03/2023 23:08

I'm so upset that today I have measured in at a 32 GG for bra size. I was a 32 F before having a baby and I really thought pregnancy and breastfeeding would shrink my chest but they have only gotten larger and lower. They are just huge on my small frame (size 8/10).
Where do you larger chested ladies shop for bras of this size? It rules me out of boux Avenue and M&S only had two bras in store of this size.

I feel your pain. I'm also size 8/10 and currently 34H. The best chance of finding a comfortable bar is IMO booking a fitting at Rigby and Peller

They fit by eye, no tape measures in sight. Game changer for me.

Panache for me (32G); the Jasmine in particularly will hoik em back up 😀

I find the cups generous so can get in a FF, although that's possibly because I'm technically a 30 band size and just hate having very tight things around my chest. Quite a few places stock them (and other brands you could try like Freya, Pour Moi, Curvy Kate) if you have a Google. Curvy Kate in particular have some very stuff.

SocksAndTheCity · 31/03/2023 23:18

*very NICE stuff. Fat fingers

Divebar2021 · 31/03/2023 23:23

If you’d like to try a wire free one I really like the Freedom Bra…. It still
gives really good support and boost ( unlike some of the super soft ones around at the moment ). I would have thought Bravissimo would have something also. To be honest I’ve always found M&S useless for big boobs ( I’m a 36G).

Poshjock · 31/03/2023 23:57

Panache, Freya and Fantasie are my go to brands. I go to Bravissimo - it is expensive but they are brilliant for getting fittings and trying out different styles.

It's not just about the size, is also about where the weight sits. Top heavy, wide, soft and low, etc. Certain bra styles work better and knowing what style works best with your particular shape is half the battle.

Once you know what styles work and what you like you can shop brands online.

GonnaGetGoingReturns · 01/04/2023 08:50

I like Freya, panache and fantasise and if you find a local lingerie shop that sells bigger sizes I’d go there rather than Bravissimo. I got fed up of being shoehorned into really tight bras but also they’d only ever fit me into balconette or Demi balconette when I occasionally wanted a full coverage or t shirt bra (moulded). Both the lingerie shops I go to (one is sadly closing) had good ranges and John Lewis wasn’t bad.

I agree to find the shape/style that suits you though.

See @Poshjock - all the Bravissimos I visited, it seemed to be a bit conveyor belt and putting me in one style, and not many others! I got so fed up of either their own range or Freya bras that I found a local lingerie boutique who are much better.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 01/04/2023 09:07

Elomi

Newgolddream70 · 01/04/2023 09:16

34F here and I love Freya bras. They are pretty yet super supportive. I also have a Freya swimsuit with a built in bra that's about 15 years old and still looks good.

Galliano · 01/04/2023 09:17

I had a thread a couple of weeks ago because weight gain in the pandemic had led to me being fitted in a 32H. I’d lost a stone and the bras were agony. I went to bravissimo armed with advice from here and was fitted in fantasie illusion full cup and panache Ana plunge in 30gg. The side support and also the fact that both don’t have wires that come up very far really help for my shape. I have very little flesh on my rib cage. The fitter was actually very good, really listened and made a huge effort to identify styles that would suit my shape. Both styles are available online much cheaper (in ‘interesting’ colours) so I can buy more cheaply if more needed. I was a 30g pre pandemic so hoping that losing another 4 or 5lbs will mean I don’t need to shop for more!

if you’re an 8-10 are you sure you are a 32?

Abondanza · 01/04/2023 09:18

Local shops can be brilliant, or bravissimo if nowhere better. I am the same size and like Lepel x

1000yellowdaisies · 01/04/2023 09:22

Im at 36 GG and i get mine from m&s, i get a 3 pack of nude coloureds, underwired ones i think they're about £38. I find them to be good for big sizes, nice wide straps and 4 hook and eyes at the back, very supportive and give a good shape.

Tallulasdancingshoes · 01/04/2023 09:25

I’m a 34GG/36G depending on style and I like Bravissimo. I really like their Nita bra. It’s really comfortable and gives me a good shape - it doesn’t make me look too wide like some bras do.

Mumof1andacat · 01/04/2023 09:37

I am either a 38gg or 36h. I buy from brastop.com. I buy the curvy kate range. Not sure of the name but its just a standard every undewire. Normally priced at around £22.

timetorefresh · 01/04/2023 09:42

Anywhere that stocks fantasie Bras. I've bought a lot from an online shop called Belle lingerie.

bluedabadeedabada · 01/04/2023 09:42

@Galliano she measured under my boobs and said '31' so we will go for a 32.

AnotherEmma · 01/04/2023 09:43

Bravissimo. They have a very good fitting service and a great range of bras for larger cup sizes.

OP and FinallyHere, if you are a size 8-10, it is very unlikely that your band size is 32 or 34, unless you have a disproportionately large rib cage. It is much more likely that your band size would be 28 or 30. Look at the measuring guide on here https://www.booborbust.com/
If you go to Bravissimo or an independent bra shop you might find that they fit you in a different size.

And yes that band size sounds way too big for you

timetorefresh · 01/04/2023 09:45

M&S bra sizes are all insanely weird anyway. My tiny size 4-6 daughter needs a 30 band from there

bluedabadeedabada · 01/04/2023 09:47

Oh that's strange, my rib cage is more 'splayed' after having a baby so maybe that is why. When she measured me the tape did feel like she held it slightly loose though and it wasn't snug around my ribs.

OP posts:
AnotherEmma · 01/04/2023 10:00

Why don't you measure yourself? I wouldn't mind betting you're a 30.

motherstongue · 01/04/2023 10:00

I’d second Elomi bras. I’m a 32 GG and I find these bras give fantastic support at the sides and are very comfortable. I tend to use a local lingerie shop who are fab for bigger sizes.

timetorefresh · 01/04/2023 10:01

Look up the boob or bust technique

Aethelthryth · 01/04/2023 10:06

I'm 30H/32GG

Fantasie, Freya and Pour Moi all have bras in larger sizes.

For a special treat try Katherine Hamilton- very expensive but utterly beautiful- the sort of bras that are easy to find in smaller sizes but supportive and comfortable. They went bankrupt at the end of 2021 but seems be under new management and functioning fine now

I'm glad you've said this! I measured on that website the other day and it put me at a 32H / 32HH. M&S didn't seem to go up to an HH, so I got 34H which works.

I'm a size 14, BMI 28 so quite overweight. Definitely only 32 though, in fact doing the "tight" measurement is 31.

mynewusername2023 · 01/04/2023 10:40

40G and all my bras are from Elomi and they are so comfortable. I no longer feel like I'm wearing a bra sometimes. Getting professionally fitted was a good send as well.
