Foundation for really sensitive eyes

Anyone found a foundation that doesn’t irritate your eyes?? It’s been a long time since I tried one but would like to occasionally be able to pop a bit of makeup on. Sadly my eyes usually end up burning and watering and me blinking like mad, being asked if I’m ok!

Why are you putting foundation near your eyes? Is it a concealer you’re looking for.

I haven’t used concealer for a long time as it’s worse with that on. The foundation takes a bit longer to react with my eyes because it isn’t as close but it gets me none the less. I’m sort of resigned to the fact that I’ll have to just not use it, but I’m in my 40’s now and needing a bit of a lift 😅

I use a little No7 cornflower eye shadow (which is off white colour) to cover redness on eyelids. I can't use anything remotely greasy.

I'd try a proper mineral foundation. I've recently tried English Mineral Makeup and it's lovely. I usually get slight redness around my nose with other foundations but not with this. You would need to layer it though as it's obviously a lighter feel than a concealer or cream foundation.

Please don’t put foundation under your eyes or on your eye lids. You need a unscented concealer under your eyes (not too close to your lash line) and eye primer on your eye lids if you’re using eye makeup.

I have sensitive skin and use Trish Macevoy foundation - pricey but lasts for ages . I react to loads of stuff , most shampoos even if I'm scrupulous about not getting it near my eyes so I feel your pain

I use Bobbi Brown stick foundation. Because it's not a liquid, I find it doesn't migrate anywhere near my eyes!

If OP is anything like me then she is putting foundation in the right places and her eyes are still reacting. No need for the condescending ‘please don’t’ replied 😄

Sympathy op!

I find the bobbi brown ‘corrector’ good - you can try it at a counter. It’s a round disk and more sold than liquid so you can just pat it on, you only need a little & it doesn’t really budge at all.

Rebel2 · 31/03/2023 08:25

Make sure it's one without SPF as it could be that you're reacting to

I’d just go for concealer to even out any blemishes/redness and forget about foundations then use a little bronzer/blusher

I don’t I promise I worded the post poorly.

I found the NARS foundations didn't make my very sensitive eyes react (however, I didn't really get on with them). Currently using The Body Shop foundation, which does have fragrance, but doesn't cause a reaction - no-one was more surprised than me!

Thanks everyone. Looks like I have a few things I can try. Really appreciate you taking time out to help!

Reviving this as I wondered whether you tried anything and found something that worked OP? I have the same issue and don't want to spend money buying loads of different ones for it to irritate me. I have swapped all other products, so the only thing I am left with is my foundation and blush!
