A need a new work wardrobe

I'm one of those poor souls who still actually has to go to work 😆

Historically it was quite a formal environment, I'd have been wearing heels and suits until about a decade ago, although it's true things had become slightly more casual, before Covid and much more so now.

My work wardrobe is dated becuase of long periods where it felt pointless buying anything and also because I've been unsure of my work style for so long.

I still like to feel professional, but also more keen to be comfy now (that may be age!) and I have this image of myself in wide leg trousers, floaty blouses or shirts and leather trainers.

Does that sound awful and if not, where do I start shopping?

Following with a lot of interest as I'm in the same position! My Baukjen dresses and heels were my work uniform, now I've got no clue what to wear!

Oh except I can't even do the trousers and shirts thing because the location of the buttons always ends in them gaping over my boobs

Following with interest as I am the same! My "uniform" of black tops and pencil skirts seems very dated.

I have bought some nice trousers from anthropologie and some silk blouses (that I still haven't been game to wear..!).

But would love to branch this out

I have the exact opposite problem, a "blouse" gives the hint that there might actually be something there 😆

My waist is my best feature and my thighs chunky, so wide leg, high wasted belted trousers suit me quite well.

I like the idea of wide legged trousers, floaty tops and leather trainers.

I can’t wear trainers of any kind to work Sad and wide legged trousers don’t suit me. I tend to wear slim ankle grazer trousers, a blazer and a silky blouse. I’m busty, so often go for an ‘over the head’ blouse rather than button up to avoid gaping.

Shoes are hard. I wear a combination of loafers, brogues and flat slingbacks (but I’m extremely fussy about style and they have to be comfy for my ridiculously sensitive feet!). Trainers go on for my commute!

In proper summer weather, I switch to midi pencil dresses in plain colours and flat sandals or a not too high wedge.

Cross post, sorry OP!

Wide legged trousers are everywhere right now, so you’re in luck.

Cos do wide leg trousers. Massimo Dutti good for floaty shirts. Trousers too. Poetry always have decent tops that are great with wide trousers. M&S had decent blouses as well.
