What do I need to make my hair like this.......

I have shoulder length hair (somewhere between the first and second photo) and want to put a very slight wave in it like in the pics below.

What is the easiest way for me to do this bearing in mind I am bordering on incompetent when it comes to hair? I had long hair until last week and I have NEVER managed to curl my own hair. But this isn't curls, it's like a very slight wave. I have straighteners but failed to make them do anything other than straighten. What implement do I need for a fool proof way to get this look? And extra points for an Amazon link!

Also what products to use to to keep the wave, I have annoyingly fine hair that requires washing every day 😡. Again recommendation (that aren't too pricy, I have soooo many hair products that have been disasters!)

Anyone got any recommendations of cheap versions of the Wylera gadget? £100 for another gadget I probably won't use is a bit much!

Like OP I struggle with hair styling! I have tongs and straighteners and a hair dryer that have sat unused for years! I experimented with curly girl methods to try and enhance my natural wave but now I opt for letting it dry naturally and then tying it back!

My hairdresser did that for me last time I visited. She used a heated hair wand - like tongs but without the clamp bit. You just wind the hair round by hand. I bought a wand and have done it a couple of times, with a reasonably good result. I think this is the one I got: https://www.johnlewis.com/john-lewis-easy-curls-hair-wands/p4039470?s_ppc=2dx92700071884894967_mixed_technology_BAU&tmad=c&tmcampid=2&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIs8b3_LGJ_gIVw9LtCh0r6Ao7EAQYASABEgJO3_D_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

My hairdresser said always to curl the hair round the wand away from you, not towards your face.

I have naturally curly hair and it's a bloody curse (my main focus daily is trying to stop looking like worzel gummidge) Nothing bemuses me more than people with straight hair bothering with curling it.

For real staying power and minimal damage, I'd try wet to dry using big foam rods or by making huge pin curls and sleeping in them overnight.

I have super fine hair and used to wash it every day. Since I swapped to natural/solid shampoo and conditioner with no silicones etc my hair has so much more body and only needs washing once every 2-3 days. This makes it so much easier to do heated styling - it’s always a nightmare on freshly washed hair!
