Safari clothes

So I’m lucky enough to be going on a short safari to Kenya for a big birthday in the summer holidays . I know I need to wear neutral khaki beige type colours which don’t suit me at all - I wear a lot of black and bright colours I don’t want to spend a fortune as it probably won’t get used again- can anyone recommend anywhere to get things please? I’m also tall so need longer lengths

Hi everyone .. I just invested in a black linen shirt then read about avoiding black due to flies …

I’ve ordered some cheap t shirts from Next and found some neutral shorts - have trail trainers so that’s ok

now to move on to the teen boys who mostly own black !

You won’t have much issue with flies. We have once in Zambia. Once. Are you going to the Masai Mara in August? If so, it’s busy. Get DC cargo pants and t shirts too. Khaki is best for t shirts. Black trousers are fine. Shorts will be cold in the very early mornings! Are your teens ok for getting up at 5.30 am?

Sorry- flies are more common after the rains in April and November. Check out malaria tablets though.

Thanks - I have wierd teens that still wake up quite early so they will manage !

Craghoppers or similar with spf 50 rating are a good option. Then cotton or linen tunics with full sleeves
