Not sure where to post.

In a rabbit hole looking for trainers, requirements are:

  • good for squats, lunges and a bit of aerobics, bit of strength
  • I'm tempted to say also running (not more than 5k) as I read that running shoes can often do both now
  • I slightly over pronate (scuff my heels on the right) and I am prone to the occasional twisted ankle, so good ankle support and good support generally

Make and model welcome, I have looked at the usual Nike, Adidas, NB, Asics, etc. but overwhelmed.

Look at the website sportshoes they often have last seasons colours reduced and you can sort by cushioned, trail or support. If you don't know at all what will fit your feet i'd suggest ordering a few pairs to try on at home or getting to an actual shop to try several pairs even if you order them online later.
I find different brands vary wildly in size in Asics I wear a 7 in my salomon trail shoes I wear a 6, In my casual Nikes I have a 5.5 etc.

I wouldn't wear the same shoes for running as I would to lift weights; I have Brooks Adrenaline for running (I also over pronate and need a lot of support) and a pair of thinnish soled Pumas that I got in the clearance at TK Maxx for everything else - the running shoes are too blocky.

You can lift weights in your socks tbh, but it depends on how strict your gym is 😊

Have you tried sports insoles, I have very flat feet and it makes cheaper trainers more bearable rather than buying the fancier pronation correction ones.

I pressed Post too soon, but some running shops sell off last years stock of expensive shoes at very good prices - I got my last pair from Run To Become for less than £60 Smile

I have a pair of Vionic trainers for running and wear either a skechers with a thin sole or converse for weights and other form of exercises. The running shoes are too bulky as a PP said.
