when I get products wrong, my hair becomes Frizz central… it’s never frizz free but at the moment it’s ridiculous.

what will help????

I’ve been using umberto giannini banana shampoo which I think isn’t working. I’m using various random deep conditioning conditioners which aren’t helping!

worst of all I don’t have a reliable smoothing/frizz-reducing styling product.

Please no curly girl reccs, sorry!! Have tried it and it DOES NOT work for me at all.

I just want something that will stop me looking like I’ve stuck my finger in the mains 😩

Thanks so much everyone... hugely appreciated.

I've had Brazilian blow-dries in the past and liked them for a while but then found they made my hair quite limp and lifeless... no frizz, it's true, but it didn't look like 'me'... I'm aware I'm being fussy!!

I think Aveda may be taking a chunk of my bank balance on the basis of the reeks on here! I will try Frizz Ease first, though.

Totally agree that hard water (which is our water!) is even worse... when we eventually get our bathroom done I will insist on a filter.

Scooby, I have tried ColorWow and LOVED it for a few months, but I'm not sure why it now seems to make my frizz worse again. Not sure quite why that would be. It was great for a while. Maybe I'm not applying enough, or perhaps my shape/conditioner routine isn't helping.

Sigh. I'm off to Boots later for a JF blitz and if that doesn't help, it's Aveda next stop!

Thanks again.

Percy & Reed anti frizz spray is the bee's knees.

You need to wash only with conditioner and layer up with moisture lock products.

I hesitate to recommend it because recent massive price hikes mean I won't be buying any more - but Function of Beauty leave in conditioner has made a huge difference to me. My hair is generally very similar to yours, but I probably don't have as much of it. I only use a tiny bit of it, and only once or twice a week. When it runs out (which won't be for ages) I'm going to try the Living Proof one a PP has recommended. I've never used a cream leave in before, only sprays, and it's been a revelation.

I use Aussie Deep Moisture shampoo and conditioner then L'Oréal professional spiral queen mousse and occasionally Kerastase curl manifest (if I have the money). I ran out of mousse last week and bought some cheap stuff but it dried my hair and made it frizzy.

I also wash my hair everyday which I keep reading is bad for your hair. But also think the curly girl method only works for certain hair types.

Aldi do their own version of Aussie Moisture shampoo which I’ve found ok and very cheap when used with a leave in coconut conditioner and frizze ease in sopping wet hair scrunched to shape and air dry.
