Vinted - items not as described - help

I previously posted about buying on Vinted - a new thing from me after many years of buying from charity shops.

Have ordered a few things for me and teen dd and it’s been a bit hit and miss, despite me being very careful about reading descriptions, asking questions, etc. Biggest gripe so far is items being described as new or nearly new when they are not.

biggest annoyance so far is a pair of jeans that arrived today that were described as never worn. They are quite clearly very worn. I think they have also shrunk in the wash/dryer as they are too small for dd despite being a size larger than other similar jeans she has from the same brand. What would you do? I was initially going to try to sell on Vinted but I don’t think I can as on close examination the condition is not good enough to sell.

There are some lovely sellers on Vinted but why do some of them lie??

This is why I'm falling out of love with Vinted. It's just not worth returning an item unless it's pricey as the buyer has to pay for returns. I'd try relist and get something for them ?

Thanks @thaisweetchill. I would relist except they have two small holes in an unfortunate spot (in crotch near seams) so I would not feel comfortable trying to sell.

i can’t believe it - the second paid I bought for myself looked pretty good but now I have spotted that the seller had obviously had a period accident so there is some yellowing on the inside - not that obvious but there. Surely that should be made clear?

Doesn't help the matter much or get your money back, but consider leaving a very honest review with photographs so this particular seller hopefully doesn't continue to get away with it

Condition can be subjective so probably not worth arguing unless they are with a lot. However if there are holes as you've said, I would contact the seller with photos of the holes and ask for a refund. If no luck with that then contact vinted to help.

I've bought and sold quite a bit and dyd once send a pair of dark colour trousers that had a hole in the pocket. I hadn't worn them for years and did check them over before listing but I just missed the hole as it wouldn't have been noticeable unless you were actually wearing them and the material stretched. As soon as the buyer contacted me I refunded.

I agree that condition can be quite subjective. But “new” v “used” is not!

I still like the idea of Vinted - but it’s a lot of work…
