I’m 49 almost 50, am I too old to wear clothes like this?
I am Nirvana’s and grunge generally 90s big fan but I don’t want to look like some mutton/ lamb fool wearing t shirt which my daughter wants to wear too ( she is 12)
I like a couple of these sweats but..

I saw Nirvana at the Reading Festival in '91.

I'll wear the goddamn t-shirt! (50 in a few weeks) ✌

Ohyoudodoyou · 19/03/2023 21:59

Still wearing my 'Frankie says relax' t-shirt - now size
18 and it was made for my 16 year old body.
Others in Aldi May be perturbed at the sight, I care not a jot.

My friend just turned 60 and she wears band t-shirts and similar items and she looks as cool as...! I say go for it!

CornishTiger · 19/03/2023 23:10

Life is too short not to wear all the band T-shirts regardless of your age. Do it!!

Chocolatetadpole · 20/03/2023 12:19

My dad's late 50s and still wears Nirvana/ Iron Maiden/ various other band t-shirts on weekends. Think it's to counteract the shirt and tie wearing all week 😂 but yes you know who they are, you're a fan, wear the tees.

Minirrriot · 20/03/2023 12:21

Big Nirvana fan here, am 43 and I still wear rock band t-shirts, including Hole and Nirvana, so I say go for it definitely. As another poster said, we saw 'em first!

MoserRothOrangeandAlmond · 20/03/2023 12:52

Erm.... nope! Definitely not too old!
I hope I'm still rocking my heavy metal T-shirts and hoodies till I'm a little old lady (if I live that long!)
I hope to be that great grandma who still sits and listens to classics of slipknot and Corey Taylor's beautiful voice!

I do love Nirvana!

Knullrufs · 20/03/2023 12:57

No such thing as too old for anything. Rock 'em.

I've got some Nirvana t-shirts. Metallica, Nine Inch Nails and Depeche Mode usually have good merch too, if you're into any other stuff.

I still have an original Nirvana top someone else gave me in 1997 and I still wear it. Also have a vintage inspired Pink Floyd top and an original Massive Attack top too.
I'm mid 40s. Clothes are clothes. I won't wear crop tops or leggings as no one needs to see my wobbly bits. Band tops are me though as I love music.

DD nicked a few others I had from my teens which I kept for nostalgia as I'm not a skinny as when I wore them. Slipknot, Metallica, a Prince Purple Rain one and a Korn top. I had some old tartan jeans and loads of goth jewellery as well. Suffice to say when they go out with their modern goth mates, they get asked where they bought them from. They say vintage!

I'd care if it says 'says'. It should be 'say'!😁

You're not too old for anything other than worrying about what people think of how you dress. Go for it!
