I am going to a vair nice restaurant in a few weeks - countryside Michelin starred joint - special present and the first time in EIGHT YEARS I have had a night away with my husband without children...

I have bought this dress - www.ghost.co.uk/meryl-dress10-d05g002-l57#/mz-expanded-view-1662693627830 - and I am stumped for what shoes to wear with it. Can anybody help?! I would like not to look too try hard but heels are OK as we're staying over so bed is only a stumble away 😂

Even just an idea of style would be so helpful!

What a gorgeous dress! The chambray blue model wears it with clogs. Quite funky but perhaps not everyone's bag. I like the silver sandals too.

I was going to ask where as well. I had the pleasure of eating at The Black Swan at Oldstead last year and was very surprised at how informally everyone was dressed. It was a very hot day though.

I'd go for pointed navy suede heels, a suede nude heel or a gold open toe / sandal heel.

I think black shoes with non black dresses look hideous, and block heels / stubby fronted shoes are my particular hatred at the moment!!

I still haven't recovered from the round toed kitten heel combo trend from the early 2000s. Shudder!

Oh my goodness - these shoes are beautiful. I’ve been looking for shoes like this since the 90’s when these were last in fashion!

I’d wear some black or nude sling back heels. Nothing chunky, really subtle . Please don’t wear trainers.. Hope you have a fab evening x
