Bra help needed - broken wrist and big boobs!

Hi! I have broken my wrist so can no longer do up bras behind my back. Front fastening I don't seem to get on with. I have big boobs and need firm support. I have tried a couple of bras without fastenings that are pulled on like a vest top, and I can get them on, but they aren't hugely supportive. I have been looking online but not found anything that looks quite right. Does anyone have a recommendation for this kind of bra?

No but I sympathise massively- I broke my wrist 15 months ago and have big boobs too. For 3 weeks I had to get H to fasten for me

a pull-over bra which has enough support for the more generously-busted (and I hope your wrist heals ok, I did mine a couple of years ago!)

Sainsbury's do a softer bra with a zip front? I love them, I'm a 36DD and find it very supportive.

You don't get on with front fastening, as in bras that fasten at the front or just doing up your normal bra at the front and then twisting it round to the back?

I like these too, and am fairly well endowed.

But you can do a back fastening bra up at the front, then swivel it round and put your arms through.

I can’t grab both sides of the bra at the moment. My left wrist doesn’t tolerate any kind of pressure. So fastening at the front is also not possible as yet, but this may change as I heal.

Thanks for the suggestions and good wishes! I have ordered the Big Bloomer one now.

I’ll order the Sainburys one too to try out in a week or two

I used a couple of front-fastening ones when I did mine - although I am not hugely endowed it has to be said.
I did find that the pain decreased and my fingers stopped swelling up after a week or so so I was better able to grip. Doctor also advised to really up my Vit C intake to accelerate the healing process.

Crikeyalmighty · 15/03/2023 15:41

Actually I'm going to order one of those bloomer ones too

Daft question - is there anyone at home who can help you in the short term?
I had to get help for a while with a similar issue.

Molke bras are amazing, I've got big boobs and they are well supported in a Molke - haven't worn underwiring for years (and they pull on like a crop top)

sonjadog · 15/03/2023 16:41

I don’t have anyone living here to help but friends have stopped by to help. That’s why I need to find a solution to this quickly. I really can’t ask friends to stop by every morning for six weeks!

Regarding the Molke, do you find them roomy compared to the guide or on the small side? I seem to be between two sizes and don’t know whether to go up or down?

Try doubling up on the "easy on" ones - my mum did this when doing up was not possible and it gave her enough support to get by. She stepped into hers and wriggled, as she had shoulder issues.

HannahSpanna · 15/03/2023 18:25

The best trick is to put your bra on backwards so clip is at the front - do up and then pull round to the right way - if that makes sense?
I have one hand and this is how I put mine on 😊

alifemoreorlessordinary · 15/03/2023 18:30

when I broke my wrist I did the bra up first, and then stepped in to it, and pulled it up gradually with one hand!

LadyMcLadyface · 15/03/2023 18:32

Also recommend Molke but I find them a bit on the tight side so would recommend sizing up.
