Temple spa v Tropic

I know there's a love/hate for tropic skincare but I get on well with it but I realise it's pricey

I've been invited to a temple spa party & was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on their products & how they might compare to tropic? Thanks

Only hate OP not love. Do you not understand why supporting MLMs in anyway is a bad choice?

CurlsLDN · 14/03/2023 13:27

I don’t know tropic, but I once went to a temple spa party not realising what it was. The products are very pricey and the pressure to buy was intense.

Blanketunderstars · 15/03/2023 07:48

I went on a spa day recently and they used this stuff on my face for facial. Honestly my skin is a mess, put me off ever using any temple spa products ever.
They have switched as the used to be Elemis, which I got on really well with.

doadeer · 15/03/2023 07:52

Wouldn't support either. It's a ridiculous business model. If you want affordable skincare cerave, the ordinary, Inky List, that's what I would buy.

Glenthebattleostrich · 15/03/2023 07:55

I love some of the temple spa products. Even signed up to sell them as you get shed loads in a 'kit' for about £100 but turns out I'm not a very good 'hun'!!! My friends and I enjoy getting a bit of money off though so works for me. (yes I share the savings / commission with them because I'm not an arse).

Their moisturizer with sun screen is great, the hand cream gorgeous and the aaahhh balm a summer must in my house. Also love some of their masks and cleaners. They can be very highly scented so you have to be careful although surprisingly mine and my daughter's very sensitive skin doesn't react.

User339406 · 15/03/2023 07:58

I quite like tropic. I buy from a friend who seems to enjoy selling and never hassles me to become a seller or anything.

I find Temple Spa quite highly scented in comparison. A couple of things smell lovely and I like using them but mostly the scent puts me off.

Tropic smells more natural (although probably isn't)

I thought Temple Spa products were just those crappy hotel toiletries! Didn't realise they were also a mlm!

Netaporter · 15/03/2023 08:15

@CalloohCallayFrabjousDay me too and I love skincare 😂

@mac1974 save your money and spend it on skincare with a single active and good ingredients. Agree with The Ordinary, The Inkey List, La Roche Posay or Pixi for an acid toner. For pricier but also excellent skincare, I’d suggest Oskia, Elemis, Drunk Elephant, Beauty Pie or Prai.

I was gifted a set of Tropic for a birthday by a friend who sells it. It included heavily scented bath salts that were a recipe for thrush when I opened them. No idea on the facial stuff though but the MLM aspect means I would avoid it.

LadyOfTheCanyon · 15/03/2023 10:12

Ive only ever come across Temple Spa in Hotels and restaurants. The hand wash is lush. You can buy all their stuff direct from their website without having to get involved in the MLM side so I'd give the party a miss tbh

Hoppinggreen · 15/03/2023 10:15

I buy from Tropic because DD likes the lack of animal testing and to be honest some of the products are good.
I do it online though and would never go to a party or similar

Housewife2010 · 15/03/2023 11:11

I prefer Tropic to Beauty Pie. I wouldn't put Beauty Pie in the same category as the excellent Elemis, Oskia etc (unless you actually believe Marcia's RRP's. )

mac1974 · 15/03/2023 12:18

I do like tropic but it's pricey. I think I just want a cost effective but simple skincare routine but I'm 43 so I do need help.

I like the look of cereve so I'll put that on the list. I didn't get on with the ordinary although I know lots of people rave about it. I spoke to a friend last night who has amazing skin & im going to try dermaceutic retinol & emboryolisse Lait Creme. I've been invited to a temple spa party but I'd never heard of it before hence the question.

This is a lovely way to try some excellent products at a great price. Best to introduce one product at a time to see how your skin reacts. www.latestinbeauty.com/collections/the-glow-plan-beauty-edit-with-abigail-james

@Housewife2010 that beauty box looks lovely

I.ve just started using Tropic Skin Feast and am finding it very suitable for my skin. I have no problem buying from a local rep. If it puts a bit of money in her pocket, all the better for he time and effort.
I've only come cross Temple Spa in a hotel. I liked the Shower Gel but have'nt tried the skin care.

Grapewrath · 09/08/2023 08:09

Temple spa smells beautiful but I recently had a facial at a spa which uses their products. The beautician gave me a ‘prescription’ of what she used and it was well over £100.
Anyway, a few days later my skin broke out so I didn’t buy any.
I like tropic but I don’t thin it’s worth the price tag for a pretty basic product. They use a lot of plastic also for a company that want to be organic and natural.
