Can you/do you wear your hair scraped back?

I noticed a lot of stars at the Oscars last night wore their hair up or scraped back off their face and they looked really glamorous and stunning. I know they generally have beautiful symmetrical faces but I see normal women out and about with a centre parting, scraped back hair and small bun and they look fab.

It doesn’t suit me at all! Maybe it’s my hairline or large nose on a small face, I don’t know. It would be great to wear it on a day it needs washing but even around the house it looks awful. I think I look better with hair!

I have naturally curly hair and I can’t be bothered with the faff of it all everyday so quite often I do just bung some gel through it and slick it back into a high bun. I’m 42 and my Mum drummed it into me how absolutely horrible I look with my hair like that (she was a horrible woman and she’s dead now) so I actually enjoy wearing my hair like that now as some kind of two fingers up to my Mum. (Weird I know). I think it looks good but I do make more effort with my make up and clothes etc as it’s quite a severe look.

@Rebel2 I read it on some website that had surprising facts about redheads so it could well be nonsense!

I'm paranoid now I've looked terrible for the last 25 years and no one told me 🤣

Yes I do quite often for work

I do a low slung bun - I keep trying to wear my hair down but it drives me nuts on my face!
It's not scraped back though - I think that's a very harsh look to carry off and not good for your hairline. It looks better when I've got make up on though. But I guess that's true of most styles.
