Straight hair out of fashion now?

I don't personally believe that any type of hair should be in or out of favour (but it sure as heck serves capitalism to put one in the shade!), but my hairdresser was chatting about to me about trends this week and mentioned the pin straight look is done and dusted.

I notice less younger people with very straight/straightened hair I must admit, but I'd say they look mostly natural. Wearing it long certainly seems to be still in favour!

What do you think? I do see a lot more curlies going about which is great.
She actually said straightened hair looked really dated now, which reminded me of mumsnet Grin
And she said this as she was...blowdrying mine straight to hurry me out the door!

wavy hair is harder to achieve but is my favourite type.
truth be told i love all hair types as life is too short to care!

Just do what you want with your hair. Who cares about what some arbitrary sense of fashion says?

No matter fears in fashion, I have it covered. I have straight hair, curly hair and frizzy hair, all on the one head! About 1 day a year, it all goes the same way and that day is a great day!

I have been unsuccessfully trying to put waves and curls into my hair for years. I thought I was doing it wrong but I'm glad to hear "dead straight" is an actual hair type and it's not just me!

Me too. I can’t do anything, hair won’t hold any sort of curl for longer than an hour!

I would love hair I could style.

My hair is naturally poker straight and I like it like that.

I would say various styles are in fashion. You still see loads of women/girls with the long Love Island style extensions hair. You also see more fashionable girls with the tousled Hair Bros type styles. Longer and shaggier Stevie Nicks style hair is also having a moment.

and of course the very slick and sleek ponytail with the centre parting.

there's a miscellany of trendy looks to choose from.

Is 80s hair aka Van Halen or Iron Maiden back in style yet as that's what mine is like in it's natural state! Patiently waiting!

I loved DLR hair back in the day ❤️

I am waiting for a Deirdre Barlow 80s perm to come back into fashion, as that is what my hair does naturally. I was in primary school the first time around so never really benefitted from having “cool hair”.

Sadly I think I’ll be waiting a long time Grin

Straight hair can look nice but only if it's thick and/or short. Thin long straight hair looks awful. Mine is naturally wavy and medium thickness and I never straighten it because it looks so thin if I do. It's like half of it disappears, I hate it

My hair is naturally poker straight. It will not hold any sort of curl or wave. So I guess I’m unfashionable again 🤷‍♀️

Same here Confused

My hair is the same @BitOutOfPractice. It's heavy and poker straight. Any curl drops out within a couple of hours no matter what witchery any hairdresser uses on it.

It is boring and flat!

I know. I find mine really boring and wish I’d even got a kink in it. But I guess it’s easy to deal with. Can you tell I’m trying to look on the bright side 😬
