Hair advice desperately needed

I'm mid 60s. I used to have gorgeous dark brown thick hair down to my bum, but when I developed arthritis some 20 years ago I had it chopped short - easier to deal with. I am now trying to grow it a bit longer - as I've got older the short spikey look doesn't suit me so well. Of course in the meantime I've gone grey. My hair has completely changed - from being thick and lustrous it is now fine and flyaway. Now it's a bit longer I'm finding it really hard to keep looking neat.

Please could you clever people advise on products I could use? I'm aiming for a simple bob, perhaps a bit longer in time. I tend not to use make-up so am completely clueless!

TIA.

Could you post a photo?
I'm struggling to work out what your hair is like!

If you haven't already, find yourself a good independent hairdresser and work with them to identify a style that both suits you and is manageable - they will know how to advise you better than we can

I have list-menopausal hair and my greys are wiry and spiral curls my hair has always been thick straight and dark brown). It's now thinner, more of a gingery red with grey spirals sprouting from the top of my head!

My hairdresser uses K18 protein treatment on my hair and I have it for home. It's really helped tame the flyaway tendencies that thinner/finer hair has brought. Might be worth a try x

Should say post-menopausal!

A texturising spray would help you a lot. I really rate Sam McKnight hair products. They are pricey but excellent at doing the job they’re supposed to do without leaving horrible residue.

This one sammcknight.com/products/cool-girl you could maybe try the travel size.

Umbertto Gianni do one that’s quite good too and you can get it from Boots.

I've never found a hairdresser who will advise about style - they always say 'what do you want' and my response is 'I've no idea'.

I'll have a look for the K18 protein treatment - thanks.
