Do you buy all the same brand skin care or do you curate ?

Never spent much on skincare except for sunscreen - now the big M has left my skin dry and dull so need to up my game.

Wondering if it's best to buy a complete regime from one brand or different things from various brands.

Firstly allow me a little lol at 'curate'.

I mix and match if that's what you mean. Brands of course want you to buy all your products from them, but it's a bit of a dated approach to skincare nowadays. I imagine maybe older women with a bit of brass buying everything from Estee Lauder or Helena Rubenstein.

I like a rich balm cleanser, then a hydrating serum like Caudalie vinoperfect, and a big splodge of a rich night cream. I've always liked Origins Drink Up Intensive. If you want to try a few things out without spending loads look at the Elf brand. Their skincare is great and really reasonably priced.

The things that will give you the biggest bang for your buck will be cleanser, tretinoin (you can get this on monthly prescription from Dermatica or Skin & Me) and spf.

Thank you - I did look at the complete set from Estee Lauder 😀

I have tried skin &me but it felt too simple and I wasn't sure what to do in the morning apart from cleanse and SPF

I have tried a few things from Origins and like the smell and texture.

Thank you food for thought

I don't think I have more than one product from the same brand, I like to find things that suit my complicated skin. Others might be luckier, same way if you find a clothing brand cut to your figure.

I think best in class/good varies depending on the product, eg many people talk about using Liz Earle cleanser but there's less about their other products. It's probably a good idea for a thread actually, who makes the best in class of each product type?

I mix and match depending on what my skin is like, but prefer lighter weight formulations.
I tend to use one of three cleansers depending on what's on offer, but would like to start being more DIY on cleansers and scrubs.
The Liz Earle eyebright is a personal favourite product though.

I mostly get the current dupes from Aldi, so yes, they are the same brand.

I’m obsessive about skincare and like to research each active ingredient to the nth degree and then go with the best reviewed product. This means I definitely curate my skincare and am not loyal to any one brand. My bathroom cabinet is generally Sunday Riley, Paula’s Choice, the Ordinary, Eve Lom, Liz Earle (recently discovered the hot cloth cleanser) and Dermatica.

I'm a huge Liz Earle fan, I've got really sensitive skin and this just suits me. The alternative retinol paste that you leave on overnight has completely transformed my skin, and I use the cleanse and polish daily.

I definitely mix and match, but there are one or two brands that i have several products from. Geek and Gorgeous do some really good basics, and I have some from The Ordinary.
