Lip blushing experiences...?

AbsolutePixels · 05/03/2023 14:00

I'm thinking of getting lip blushing done. I want a lip enhancement and am scared of fillers incase they migrate/look weird.

Has anyone tried lip blushing? Also I'd be interested in recommendations for a good permanent makeup artist in London/Surrey.

TIA.

I had mine done as lips were same colour as my face. Love it. I went to a lady in Essex who runs a training school.

AbsolutePixels · 05/03/2023 19:37

Sounds great, @Madamecastafiore . Do you mind me asking, were your lips quite full to begin with? Mine are rather thin.

Ps. Would you be happy to post/PM the details of the woman you used? I'm the other side of London but happy to travel for someone good.

Hi yes quite full to begin with but I've seen others that weren't and they look fuller. I'll PM you her details and you can look through her page. It didn't really hurt. They were swollen for a little while and I looked like I'd had fillers but that subsided quickly.

CurlyhairedAssassin · 05/03/2023 20:34

Be very careful who you pick. I’ve seen some ok ones but some that frankly look like swollen labia.

MandaLynn · 05/03/2023 20:35

@Madamecastafiore would you mind PMing me her details too?

How long does one treatment last? I've realised how much better I look with lipstick on, but just want a natural "my lips but bette" look

It's certainly not something to be approached flippantly. I'm most worried about getting that horrible tattooed look with the harsh lip line.

MandaLynn have PM'd you. It does depend a lot on your skin like most semi permanent tattooing but she'd be able to tell you. I had mine done before lockdown and it's not faded very much at all.

It does look swollen to start with, that's entirely normal but the swelling goes down v quickly.

Madamecastafiore · 05/03/2023 21:25

Is this what you were thinking of?

Lip blushing experiences...?
Madamecastafiore · 05/03/2023 21:26

That's not me.

AbsolutePixels · 05/03/2023 21:30

Yes, something like that @Madamecastafiore Those lips are similar size/tone to mine. That's just the sort of enhancement I want.

You can choose which ever colour you like, there's a huge range and she'll mix different inks for you to achieve a colour you're totally happy with x

LadyKnot · 05/03/2023 21:41

It looks bad though it doesn't blend with your gums and when you talk it looks like you have lipstick on. It doesn't look natural.

AbsolutePixels · 05/03/2023 21:43

Does it? I've never seen anyone up close who's had it done. Maybe I should just go for filler.

I had it done, as well as SMP eyeliner. My lips hurt so much, I have a very high pain threshold. I am meant to have them topped up but I can't face it. I will go for my eyes though.

dammiejodger · 05/03/2023 21:46

And it doesn't look like lipstick, more of a tint.

Slimjimtobe · 05/03/2023 21:48

I’ve had it done (two years) and I went to a great artist so it looks natural - she just went outside the line and my lips look a lot better / bigger but subtle

AbsolutePixels · 05/03/2023 21:51

This sounds great @Slimjimtobe

Aside from the pain, were you happy with the look, @dammiejodger

Feel free to PM with recommendations for permanent makeup artists.

I had mine done once 6 years ago. It was hideous. I’ve had lots of things done and I have a high pain threshold but I found it really painful. She just kept going over and over them. Afterwards stung terribly. I had to wear a scarf over my face because the air on them was painful. I also got a really bad infection and they swelled up so much I couldn’t talk. I think the practitioner was too heavy handed because 6 years on the colour has barely faded and I didn’t even get the top up. Most people I know who’ve had it done, the colour doesn’t retain. Do lots of research. Also if you’re prone to cold sores there’s a good chance you’ll get one because of the trauma to the tissue.

dammiejodger · 05/03/2023 21:53

Yes I was happy. The lips swell a lot after and my husband thought I'd had fillers. I wish I could face going back but I can't. I had it done about 10 weeks ago. My lips went a bit funny last week, very dry and tight, it could be not drinking enough, but I wondered if it was the lip blush. No amount of lip balm helped it until I got a lip mask.

I had mine done in the North West, a bit far for you.

Susurrar · 05/03/2023 21:58

Watching with interest, my natural lips are so pale that people often think I’m cold or having some circulation issues. I would like just a hint of colour, just so there’s a difference between my pale
face and lips.

Bagofweasels · 05/03/2023 22:01

I had them done a few years ago it was unbelievably painful and they swelled up massively and went all crusty it was awful. I also had a reaction to the local anaesthetic cream. I couldn’t tell much difference once they’d healed but I’m not sure how well it worked because there was a lot of bleeding so I don’t think they held the pigment. I don’t think the lady that did them was very experienced though.. you get what you pay for!
I have since had my eyebrows done with a much more experienced and professional practitioner, barely felt a thing, no swelling and perfect results, I would probably trust this person to do my lips if I ever decided to have them done again but I still think lips are a lot more painful than brows. Be very very careful where you go. I would recommend the lady that did my brows she is amazing but up north so no good to you I’m afraid

Don't suppose you're near Manchester? Looking for somewhere to get my brows done!

Madamecastafiore · 05/03/2023 22:11

Mine swelled a bit but most certainly wasn't terribly painful. She kept stopping to top up the anaesthetic cream and asking me if I could go on. Had to use a straw to drink through for a few days she said. No idea why but I did it nonetheless.
