Any newbie silver sisters out there want an anonymous support group?

I am on the Silver Sisters Facebook page and love seeing the transformations. I’d love to be brave enough to post myself for advice and support but I’m still a bit unsure about the whole transition thing. Thought it might be nice to have something a bit more anonymous to support myself and hopefully others through the transition! I’ve name changed for this 😁
Im 45 years old and nearly 3 months in after thinking about it since last spring. I got to three months before and caved in and dyed it on Christmas Eve out of sheer vanity as I have young kids and didn’t want to look a state in our Christmas photos. Well…of course I’m annoyed with myself now!
Anyone else want to share the journey? I could use some company!

I have been going grey since I was 18.
I guess you'd describe me as salt and pepper now. Haven't dyed my hair for about 15 years and before that it was sporadic and not to hide grey.

My hairdresser says many women would pay a lot of money to have hair like mine 🤷🏻
It is what it is. I have no hangups about it and couldn't give two shits what other people think of it.

I've almost completed my "journey" as I stopped dyeing my hair 18 months ago and only have a slight brownish tinge on the ends at the back. Started going grey at 16, used to cut the individual hairs very short until that became untenable, then dyed it my original dark brown for over 25 years.
Went cold turkey so the transition was really noticeable - I was already around 90% white/grey when I started. Took a couple of photos every couple of months to track my progress.
Good luck! It's really worth doing in my opinion. After such a long time dyeing, it's great not having white roots to deal with and I love the shade variations I now have.

I'm 51, hair largely grey and started growing it out about nine months before lockdown, so I guess summer 2019.
first couple of cuts my hairdresser put a toner on, which meant there wasn't a hard line between my natural hair and the dyed stuff.
but it's been great, no bothering about roots, which is fab, a saving on getting it coloured every six weeks or so which is equally fab Wink and it's been really liberating

this is me from a couple of years ago, so there's still a tiny bit of colour on the ends, but you get the idea....
and my hair is in better condition without the dye, and I get more compliments on it now
would totally recommend just going for it - after all it's only hair, if you hate it, you can always go back to dying

Looks very healthy! It feels like a long way away for me. My hair is much longer too so potentially in the grow out phase for longer (I look horrid with short hair!)

It’s the shade variations I’m excited about! I’m hoping for some nice streaky silver highlights 🤞

I wish I could not give two shits but I’m still de-programming myself. Have been looking at lots of fabulous transition photos for inspiration and to normalise it and I’m definitely getting there!

I am greyish , since I decided I couldn’t be arsed with box dyes any more. Sort of a mix of shades, some white, some grey, some still with my old natural colour (mouse) hanging on . Last time I went to get my haircut the hairdresser asked If I had ever used a shampoo/ conditioner for grey hair. I said no, but go for it. I am amazed at the difference and would really recommend trying one. It has really pulled all the differing shades together, toned down the harsher shades and made everything very shiny.
