first time botox this morning - quick question!

Hi all,

I had some very very light botox for the first time earlier - the practitioner (NHS doctor who moved into private aesthetics full-time following the pandemic) seemed brilliant and totally got that I don't want to look 'done' or even younger really - just a bit more refreshed...I'm late 40s and have really noticed age-related changes to my face over the past year or two.

ANYWAY, because she went so very lightly she said to come back after 10 days and we can always top up a bit if I want to. Here's the question - I presume this is included in the amount I paid today?! Obviously it's quite expensive so just wanted to check....x

Yes it's included

MisgenderedSwan · 02/03/2023 15:08

I would contact the doctor's secretary to confirm

NorthernWanker · 02/03/2023 15:08

It usually is but not a given so double check.

Piffle11 · 02/03/2023 15:20

Where I go - yes, it's included.

waywardkitten · 02/03/2023 15:36

Great thank you - I've just checked the website and they say the follow up is 'complimentary' so I guess that means it's included.

Excited and a bit nervous to see the effects - wish me luck!

Prepare to look in the mirror a lot 😆

Lykia · 02/03/2023 15:39

It's not included where I go. I paid a £25 top up charge but it was worth it.

krill · 02/03/2023 15:44

It's usually included but a nominal charge at most. It is needed to review and do any tweaks if necessary.

moppa · 02/03/2023 15:47

It's included with mine.. I get my 11s and crows feet done Grin and it normally takes 5/6 days to properly set..

Love Botox.

I didn't think I'd ever go for it (too scared of it going wrong!), but after a very stressful few months and a LOT of research into the right practitioner, I thought why the hell not? ! Sick of looking exhausted ALL the time and hopefully this will help! 😅

I was exactly like you. I thought about it and researched it for years. My dentist does mine and I am delighted with the results (will be having my third lot in a couple of weeks - so that's three treatments in 12 months)

I’m really interested in having some botox done before my next birthday, but really nervous about looking too done!? Around my eyes and forehead definitely needs some, but how do you manage not to look too fake? Should I just choose one area first just to start? Any tips, sorry to jump on op.

DuvetDownn · 02/03/2023 16:52

I have it twice a year, I’m 54 and started for my 50th, you wouldn’t know. I have never mentioned it to friends or family. My dermatologist does it and it and often makes we wait to get it done if he doesn’t think I need it.

Lauren83 · 02/03/2023 16:55

It's always been included where I have been before

@Stormystar I want to do this too. Had my 11s done for the last year. I want to slow down movement on my forehead and eyes but not completely. Was going to ask at my next appt if I could pay for one extra area but split the same amount of Botox between two areas to reduce movement.

Not sure if that's even a thing but I have heard a small amount called 'baby Botox'.

Shitfather · 02/03/2023 17:06

Hi OP. May I ask where you had it done?

It does wear off, it's only been 3 months since my last treatment and I can see it wearing off. That's the thing, it can become addictive!
I have a very low dose though.

Ask for baby botox. I had this for the first time yesterday. My practitioner knows I want to look very natural. You could also try a Micro Tox facial. I think it can have different names but basically it's microneedling combined with vitamins and baby botox injected into the skin instead of the muscles to refresh your face. Go do some Googling and see what you think.
