Dressing to match dd (or vice versa) - ever forgivable?

because I've just done it by accident and am too lazy to change either or both of us.

MrsBadger · 10/02/2008 10:00

Not too matchy matchy - I reckon you'll probably get away with it.

Jojay · 10/02/2008 10:02

I've inadvertently done this with ds!! ( both of us in jeans and the same coloured top.)

I think it's forgivable as long as you didn't do it on purpose!!

Habbibu · 10/02/2008 10:03

You could go out and have fun pretending that you always do this, and casting dark looks at people who are not matched...

PhDlifeNeedsaNewLife · 10/02/2008 10:06

I did see a mama once who had dressed to match her two ds's!

they were all wearing jeans, white trainers, and cam-print puffa jackets.

It sounds barf here but at the time I thought, coool. Course, I was VERY hormonal at the time.

Miaou · 10/02/2008 10:06

Oh I've done this before. I usually only notice halfway through the day when we are already far from home though

I had to laugh once though - there are six of us and we were all wearing variations of the same outfit

JackieNo · 10/02/2008 10:07

Just make sure you're wearing matching crocs, MrsB.

SheherazadetheGoat · 10/02/2008 10:09

i did have a snigger in teh white company shop when i realised i could buy matching pj's for dd and myself (and it is mrsb's fault cos she directed me to the white company)

Shhhh · 10/02/2008 16:20

aww I think its cute..I don't see anything wrong with matching your dd/ds....

As long as you don't have matching bunches and disney princess knickers and vest.. ..!

dirtylilminx · 10/02/2008 21:36

me and my 5 month dd have matching trainers.

theres nothing wrong with looking the same,

just wish i could find matching tops for us

both. hehe

nedmum · 10/02/2008 21:38

When I was about four, me and my mum had identical dresses - red velour, with a small parrot on the chest. Was this child abuse?

PortAndLemon · 10/02/2008 21:42

We had to buy DS a winter coat that was as close as possible to DH's, as that was the only way we could persuade him that a winter coat was in any way desirable. So they do look a bit matchy-matchy when they go out at the moment.

ChippyMinton · 10/02/2008 21:42

DD (4) and I have evolved similar styles recently and it does make me smile, I wonder if anyone notices.
We both have
black leather boots
suede boots - mine are brown, hers pink
a selection of pincord skirts
tights, mine are plain, hers are patterned
puffy jackets

ChippyMinton · 10/02/2008 21:45

When our local library was modernised using shades of maroon and purple, my entire reading group turned up wearing the same colours, quite subcounciously. We blended into the new chairs.

Shhhh · 11/02/2008 19:57

nedmum..small parrot.............child abuse........... YES .!

Along the same lines as a green cord skirt my mum made me wear when I was a kid.. I HATE GREEN AND ANYTHING CORD....wonder why .!!!

nappyaddict · 21/02/2008 17:18

me and my mum did this the other day. both went out with turquoise jumpers on. neither of us realised til 5 minutes after one of the neighbours had said something which at the time both of us hadn't realised what she was on about!!!
