My mother-in-law recently passed away. She had so much good quality clothing. I've looked at eBay and vinted but there's nothing like it on the site. We started with an indigo moon jacket , I did actually find this on hinted on sale for £8.00 but it has been there for 4 months. The other two hackers are high end country style jackets one is the Balmoral collection but I can only find them new, and they're pricey, I'd keep this one but it drowns me

Can't you just give it to a charity shop?
Do you really need the money?

Why is that any of your business?

Because, @torquewench , if she needs to generate income, people can advise accordingly.
If profit isn't much of a motivation, other options are available.
So. Charity shop, websites to get rid, or websites to profit?

Anyway, OP, you've a few options.
If you personally really like the Balmoral jacket, it may be worthwhile having it altered to fit.
Otherwise, to sell - do you have any local shops which sell quality pre loved clothes?
I buy from these places, you can get a bargain, but I think items can sit on the racks for months.
Which brings me back to my original question. If you want to make some money quickly, the selling websites are a way to go, but I don't know how much you'd make. Others on here may be able to advise.
Obviously charity shops are just a quick way to get rid.
What kind of items do you have?

GettingStuffed · 27/02/2023 12:46

As executors of the estate we need to optimise it. Some will go to charity shops but some is just too nice, my FiL was CFO for an oil company and she has a lot of formal tops from the 70s-90s so coming back into fashion, it's those were looking to ask as well as the coats, the rest of her retired clothing i.e. comfy slacks and sweatshirts will go to charity.

I see what you mean. Some of those items will be top end, and quality vintage.
Is there a vintage shop in your area that buys in?
Anecdotally, I've heard that Vinted website isn't good, but others may have a better experience.
