Is Jane Shilton something to avoid, or not, if one should want a stylish bag?

Personally, I love them.

Sorry QS, I'm clueless when it comes to handbags. Had a look at website though - the expensive ones look lovely and the cheap ones look a bit crap. Always the way .....

i personally hate jane shilton bags, they look cheap and nasty while being expensive at the same time. for the same money i would rather have tula or radley.

but if you like them, it is your chioce

Radleys are nice too, I have a Tula, but it is quite old, but very classic in style. I also have a Quintessential which I love. I also fell in love with a red and black Lulu Guinness, but thought it would look tartish without the right clothes to go with it.

I did get the bag. Could not resist, I dont have a brown leather bag that size.....
