I started using revitalise in September 2022 and my lashes are now simply and utterly fabulous on the top and bottoms. They are so long - they look false lol! But my question is this, as I've been using it nightly now for over four months, I see on various sites that they recommend going down to every other day or even twice a week to maintain the look. Now that I have got such fabulous lashes, I don't want to ruin what I have achieved so does reduced usage still maintain beautiful lashes? If you have reduced the amount of times per week you use it, what have you reduced down to? Thanks

Did you end up reducing the frequency of application? Im going to start using it next week. Just bought a 6 month tube.

PinkCosYouAreSoVery · 12/08/2023 13:32

p.s. please can I ask how long did it take before you started to see results?

boboshmobo · 12/08/2023 13:44

I use uk lash every night . It doesn't cost much . I would use it weekly though for maintenance

It doesn't take long to work , mine are super long now too although they were longer than most peoples to start with . Most people think they are extensions now 🙄

claredavidson · 13/08/2023 06:37

It took about six weeks to see results. I now use it every other day and the lashes are still fabulous. I am hooked fir life.

Does it change your eye colour?

boboshmobo · 13/08/2023 07:43

@IamSTARVING why would it ? 🤨

ScarlettBeauregarde · 13/08/2023 07:48

Because prostaglandins in eyelash serums have been shown to change iris colour in some cases. Perfectly reasonable question.

fallonscake · 13/08/2023 08:07

I wouldn't use most of these. Orbital fat loss and/or darkening around the eye socket. Many posts in S and B here about it.

I'd rather use a fibre mascara or even lash extensions than that. Some people don't recover it, depending on how long they've been using it, and have tried tear trough filler (not a predictable or easy filler to have).

JobChangeSoonPlease · 13/08/2023 08:35

Agree with @fallonscake
I have read the same on here and stopped using these immediately. Went back to my own sparse lashes but no dark circles/fat loss so far. None of these come without paying a price I guess!

fallonscake · 13/08/2023 11:00

If you'd only be been using it a short time you'd have probably been fine. I think prolonged use makes it worse, and recovery, back to normal, more difficult.

There's a well known celebrity who uses one of these growth mascaras, or promotes it, and apparently she has the orbital fat loss. It could be Brooke Shields.

PinkCosYouAreSoVery · 13/08/2023 15:08

Thanks for the replies. I'll give it a go and see what happens. It would be interesting to hear from anyone that has used it who has experienced the discolouration and or orbital fat loss. I can't seem to find any photos online to see these 'cons', lots of photos of the 'pros' though, lovely long lashes!

NatashaDancing · 13/08/2023 15:26

Another unpleasant side effect is growth of peach fuzz hair at corners of eye and cheeks.

fallonscake · 13/08/2023 17:46

There's lots of photos online of orbital fat loss and hollowing and darkening in the eye socket area after using these products @PinkCosYouAreSoVery

Try it and see what happens by all means, but I wouldn't touch it!

Oh for goodness sake, forget what so-called celebrities are saying and experiencing. Don’t forget they’re all paid to endorse products. I have used it regularly now for a year and can report nothing but super duper long beautiful eyelashes.

I think you must misunderstood as I didn't say the celebrities have said anything. You should look up past threads or research more generally.

That's a bit rude and defensive. I just wanted to warn, as have other posters. I think sunken eyes, dark sockets and loss of orbital fat is a potentially high price to pay for slightly longer 'super duper' eyelashes. Good luck anyway!

Sali Hughes recommended Sweed eyelash serum in the Guardian recently. It works quickly and doesn't have prostaglandins in it just peptides. My eyelashes grew quickly and are quite thick now. I 've had a few compliments. However I too would like to know if I can drop back from using it every day. I miss the occasional evening now

JobChangeSoonPlease · 13/08/2023 21:29

@Flur - thank you, sweed looks good. I'm considering trying this.

Dighi · 13/08/2023 21:34

Has anyone tried Vaseline? I’m sure I read somewhere that it works.

I use revitalash but it’s expensive and I don’t have dramatic results. I use it a few times a week, for maintenance. However, concerned about the issues, as above.
