How much do Brits pay for Botox

claredavidson · 22/02/2023 17:11

I just left a message on another thread about Botox i.e. how many years I've had it and how long it lasts, and it occurred to me that I wondered how much people pay in the UK?

£300 for forehead and eyes

Prettypaisleyslippers · 22/02/2023 17:12

Meant to last 4 months but doesn’t

thehappyhaggis · 22/02/2023 17:23

I've paid between £200 and £240 for 3 areas (forehead, 11's and eyes). I'm in Scotland and not in a big city so don't know if that makes a difference.

byvirtue · 22/02/2023 17:27

£350 forehead £400 with eyes. It’s very expensive but I have found a doctor I trust.

OneAndDon3 · 22/02/2023 17:29

£300 for forehead and eyes. Lasts me up to 5 months. It's expensive but I go to a fab doctor. I'm not prepared to let anyone else inject things into my face.

Shitfather · 22/02/2023 17:41

450 for 3 areas. Wearing off <3 months.

Branleuse · 22/02/2023 17:55

I pay £150 for 3 areas

claredavidson · 22/02/2023 17:56

Wowee - that sounds a lot!

Mine charges £140 for one area or £180 for two, including an advance consultation and top up after 2 weeks of needed. It lasts around 6 months. They are a dentist and I wouldn’t go to anyone else.

LoisLane23 · 22/02/2023 18:04

£250 for 3 areas, I'm in London. Lasts about 12-14 weeks.

girlmeetsboy · 22/02/2023 18:06

£150 with a top up, its my friend who does it though, reminds me (looking in the mirror) to message her!

Yes, same for me. Though my Dr only charged me £200 for two areas last time, which I was happy with.

heatdeath · 22/02/2023 18:08

southeast - my dentist does mine, £150 for one area & an extra £50 for each additional area (that includes a top up at 14 days)

shivermetimbers77 · 22/02/2023 18:09

£230 for 2 areas. London. Lasts about 3-4 months but I only have it in every 6 months as hate the frozen look and can’t afford more anyway!

uhtredsonofuhtred1 · 22/02/2023 18:16

£190 for 3 areas

£200, 3 areas, Leeds

lasts 4 months

Runningonjammiedodgers · 22/02/2023 19:06

£180 for 11 lines and top lip. Used to get it done in the US where they charge for the amount used instead of the area which threw me a bit when I moved back to the UK. Currently live in a 'gritty' city so prob cheaper than the south east.

I go to a nurse practitioner, she's great and very subtle. Stay clear of non medical people/aesthetic practitioners.

heatdeath · 22/02/2023 22:55

@claredavidson … Reading I’m afraid

TheOGCCL · 23/02/2023 08:34

Therapie clinics are the cheapest I’ve seen - £120 for one area, £199 for two and £225 for three. The prices seem the same nationwide.

Doing a top up at two weeks is very bad practice. It increases your risk of developing neutralising antibodies which will stop it working in the future.

I have never heard of anyone having anything but a top up at two weeks; it seems to be common practice?

DoctorDonna20 · 23/02/2023 09:10

That's very worrying. The licence is for at least 12 weeks between injections to prevent antibody formation and other risks. Prescribers are legally required to explain the risks/benefits if they are using a drug off license.

If you develop antibodies not only will cosmetic injections not work but if you develop a neurological condition like a stroke with spasticity in the future you'll have limited treatment options.

SpringofJoy · 23/02/2023 10:49

I'm very surprised to read that - I have just been Googling and a two-week top up certainly seems standard across the industry (i.e. for GPs and dentists as well as the 'aestheticians.')

angelicameadow · 23/02/2023 13:07

Recently between 160 and the highest 220. Three areas. Two week top up/consultation fee included in the latter.

I used to pay almost double and there's been no difference. In fact it's lasting longer and I can go six months between injections, though that could also be because I'm a long term botox user now. Large markup I think.
