DD wants this dress but it is too expensive and she can't try it on and sent back if it doesn't fit... she has looked for dupes and can't find anything... has anyone seen anything like it anywhere else?

I've had a quick look and it doesn't look like the Lulu dress is on any of the rental sites, but the black stars dress in same style is, and so are a lot of other dresses from the same designer, if renting is an option? There are loads of rental sites including John Lewis

I like the retro 50s ones but they're more me than her
I also like the 40s style silk ones - but they're not flared enough for her
She wants the fitted top, puffy sleeves and tiered skirt

She also wants something a but more upmarket than Shein or Pretty Little Thing because of the event it is (she wears plenty of that the rest of the time).

Rental is a good thought though - can investigate that

She needs to do a reverse image search because there are loads of options coming up. These 2 are via Ali Express so quality may be variable but you can find good dupes there.

I think they're being economical with the actualité there to avoid complying with distance selling regulations. There's the option to customise or not. They have dresses which are sold out, so clearly a stock of dresses not being made to order, but it's not worth risking it and getting into an argument.

I hope she finds a copy.

@NatashaDancing - she is interested in the colour AND the style - the big puffy sleeves and the skirt -all in the stiffer fabric that sticks put a bit. DD is 10 or 12 depending on cut nd brand etc.

the Oasis one is nice and that may have to do - but she said that's a bit less 'dressy' than she would have liked.

She is going to investigate rental places today as that was something she hadn't thought of -
