Keratin treatments

Hi

I had a Keratin treatment over 8 years ago. Loved the lack of frizz but found it rather flat on my fine hair. I'm 18 months post partum too, so loads of regrowth.

Assuming there are even better treatments out there now. Any recommendations? Thanks!

I love love my keratin treatment - I get Brazilian Blow Dry from Amazon after a recommendation on here. I think it is about £28.
It does make my hair a bit flat for the first week til it’s grown a bit/the excess product has washed out fully. I wouldn’t do it less than a fortnight before a big event.

But, wow, in terms of hair health it is amazing g. My hair is so soft and shiny.

Thank you. Will look into that. Did you get it done professionally 1st to pick up tips and tricks?

Would prefer a formaldehyde free treatment. Anyone tried a natural keratin treatment. Read about cezanne but only seems to be in the US.

Kerasilk is formaldehyde free.

I’d had it done in a salon before I did the home one. The problem with the salon is it costs £££ and takes ages. There’s no skill involved but I was paying for the time in the chair. Plus, it was a nuisance to diarise and a waste of a Saturday morning.

Now I do it in the evening before I am WFH for a few days.

@CaponeOnTax do you have a link pls? There are loads on there. Thanks

I paid for it professionally once but due to the cost did some research online and now use Answr - I use it every 3 months or so and I find it incredible on my thick frizzy hair ☺️

I regret having a salon brazilian blow dry. My scalp went weird for a month afterwards, and the keratin treatment wore off after 2 months so it wasn't worth the £££ for me.

I never want a burning and flaky scalp like that again and will live with the frizz, nothing straighteners can't sort anyway.

This is the one I use @LondonLovie

@CaponeOnTax do you find the at home any less effective and long lasting than salon? Thanks!

I have long, frizzy hair and have been having salon keratin treatments every 4 months or so for about a year. The first salon charged me £160 and the one I go to now charges £120. This is in the south east. I go to salons that use the Cocochoco treatment which is formaldehyde-free. I'm rubbish with my hair so am prepared to go to the salon for the treatment. This treatment has revolutionised my life! My hair is a lot flatter than it was - but not completely flat, it def has body - and is no longer frizzy. Saves loads in drying time and I just look put together and professional. Love it.
