Pretentious Jeans

Dp, bless him, came home yesterday with a pair of jeans for me, lovely jeans and fit perfectly.

But bloody hell they are so poncey! There was a piece of paper in the pockets made out to look like a handwritten note, saying please look after these jeans carefully, they will last forever etc.

Then, just noticed whilst sitting on the loo (TMI) that the pockets are made out of stripey silky material, on one pocket is printed some writing about fine quailiy, on the other pocket is some embroidery which makes it look as if the material has been darned. And all the is on the inside of the pockets where nobody will ever see it, except the person wearing the jeans whilst they are sitting on the loo! Why would the jeans manufacturers waste so much time and effort on such frippery?

Or perhaps it is because I am not used to designer jeans (you don't get this treatment with Topshop jeans, I must say!)

Are they Firetrap by any chance?

lazarou · 08/02/2008 12:34

Actually, they sound quite nice. Where did he get them?

lazarou · 08/02/2008 12:34

I want a pair

GetOrfMoiLand · 08/02/2008 12:35

No, they are called Jack Wills. I have never heard of them (style dunce) but dp left the price on them and they were £128 (christ almighty!)

Count your lucky stars you got jeans as a present AND the right size. I usually get DVDs for Christmas and Birthday because it's easy to get those ordered in from Amazon! Birthday in 3 weeks, let's see what I get, eh?

When Iwas pregnant I got a pair of rock and republoc maternity jeans off ebay. They were so expensive but so lovely, I wore them all the time and my friends commented on how nice they were.
I love jeans.

They are LOVELY jeans by the way, really quality denim material. He got them from Cavendish House (House of Fraser jobby in Cheltenham)

Why would he buy me a pair of nice jeans on a Thursday? I usually dance with rejoice if he manages to remember to bring some milk home

I love jeans, in fact it's very rare I wear anything else! Those do sound poncey but lovely!

Someone came to our toddler group the other day with a pair of £250 jeans on. Crazy money I would rather have 10 pairs of cheap ones lol.

GetOrfMoiLand · 08/02/2008 12:42

£250 on jeans lol.

I am going to end up wrecking mine, I know. I remember when I saved up for ages in my skint days to buy a nice pair of jeans (Topshop jeans for £45, believe me that was a fortune for me back in the bad old days!), got a bit pissed at a friends house, fell down her garden path and ripped a hole in the knee on the first time I wore them. I cried!
