Why is nothing ever in stock at Asos?

Dd is 5ft 11. It’s one of the few places that do long length. She wants some plain black joggers. Seems a simple enough basic, but not in stock.

Nothing is ever in stock unless it’s in the first few pictures on the page or in a size 8 or 6. Why can’t they get their stock levels right?

Because people in the UK don’t want to pay the prices they would have to charge if they sourced items from the UK.

So they have to source them from the EU and beyond.

Go figure

It’s not about price and the U.K.

The U.K. has no manufacturing to make them. I spent 10 years in the rag trade. All production moved abroad whilst l was working in it. The U.K. wouldn’r invest in new technology, overseas countries would, so eventually all production moved abroad. Also, the U.K. manufacturers at that time were shocking. Nothing was ever done on time.

So, thanks for your snippy answer. But it’s not as easy as ‘make in the U.K.’ There’s no where to make it, and no one with the skills or machinery to do so.

Go figure.
