I'm thinking with trainers for summer beer gardens (let me dream) and with heeled ankle boots for a party next weekend. I accept I'm not the most stylish person in the world, most outfits start with comfy shoes so there's always some compromise, but I think this could be quite a useful dress.

Or I could be getting sucked in by the big discount on what is still quite an expensive item?

It’s not to my taste but I think it’d look fine in the summer with sandals… would definitely look a bit odd for a winter party/with boots though!

IsThePopeCatholic · 10/02/2023 21:41

Polyester lining? No thanks.

dontgobaconmyheart · 10/02/2023 21:53

I think its quite nice actually but not overly wearable and looks very thin so not really suitable for cold weather. I really don't think it would look good with trainers or boots and would only really work with sandals or heels; plus the bra situation would make it a pain for anyone with a bust.

I'm confused by all the comments about being cold. At a party? What do people wear to Christmas dos? Party dresses aren't usually warm?

It's not "dressy" enough to be a party dress. It's a casual summer night's dress.

Boots will look seriously weird. You could wear trainers with it in the summer.

Yes agreed

Thirded.

It would absolutely drown me.

I wouldn't be able to wear a bra.
My upper arms would be too exposed.
It wouldn't give me any shape.
And I wouldn't wear it in February as I would be freezing. Goosebumps everywhere even inside....every time someone opened a door, or I went to the loo, brrrr.....

But if you like it enough you should get it!

You put the words right into my mouth. But if I were 6ft tall with boobs that didn't need the lift of a bra and I was going to a party in the height of summer I might feel differently.

CinnamonJellyBeans · 10/02/2023 22:44

It's a bit busy and I always think that shape of neckline and bust shape (sloping down from the middle) is unflattering. I do not like it, even on the model.

Netcam · 10/02/2023 22:44

Plus I don't like lined dresses and wouldn't want to buy anything with a 'dry clean only' tag.

Anniecott · 10/02/2023 22:45

I think it would look amazing with a pair of dm's, chunky wedged converse, or a normal pair of trainers, lots of silver or gold jewellery with either a jean or biker jacket, but that's just me 😉
I don't care what people think, I wear what I like. X

Yes, it would be too cold for a party in February without a pashmina or some kind of cover up. I think you are underestimating how warm buildings are these days with the cost of energy being what it is.

It will be fine with a strapless bra or no bra.

Iwannabeacrocodilehunter · 10/02/2023 23:13

It’s ok.

Petrarkanian · 10/02/2023 23:19

I like it, it looks like a map.

Changefor · 10/02/2023 23:19

Yes with sandals (flat or heeled)! I cannot imagine it at all with trainers or boots for some reason, but it is a nice dress

Tirednest · 10/02/2023 23:23

There's a reason it's so heavily reduced.

Guavafish1 · 11/02/2023 01:31

Wear with UGGs

neveradullmoment99 · 11/02/2023 03:00

I think it's beautiful! Go for it!

America12 · 11/02/2023 04:04

Not a trainers or boots dress. But very nice.

LadyOfTheCanyon · 11/02/2023 04:52

You need beautifully sculpted shoulders to do that justice.

It's all right. I do think it would look demented with trainers though. In a "Had to grab the nearest clothes to escape a burning building" kind of way.

HorsingAround2022 · 11/02/2023 08:44

I love it! I want to buy it myself but I’m 8 months pregnant so not sure what size to buy it in for the summer, hopefully they have some left in a few months!

unfortunateevents · 11/02/2023 15:06

Yes, people wear strappy or strapless party dresses in winter, but not this kind of loose flowing dress, that's very much a summer, sunny evening dress. Party dresses in winter tend to be more tailored and with considerably less fabric. I can possibly see it working with trainers for summer, but I don't think there is any season of the year in which this dress works with heeled ankle boots – sorry!

LlynTegid · 11/02/2023 17:34

Like the colours, but to be honest, I don't think it would look great on most women. Definitely summer only.

shinynewapple22 · 11/02/2023 17:37

It's a nice dress but it says summer holiday evening to me.

Oddbutnotodd · 11/02/2023 17:39

Just no. Why not rent a dress for the party

devonianpricklypear · 11/02/2023 17:42

don't give into consumerism!

fabulous dress though I must say

gogohmm · 11/02/2023 17:44

Lovely but would like to see how it looks on someone who actually eats proper meals, the model looks underweight.
